It's a rumor at this point, but you never know.

Didn't they make a live action movie with Drew Carrey? Yeesh, how many are they going to make?

Not just Disney, EVERYONE's doing Pinnochio. I was in Best Buy last week and saw the sequel to New Line's version from 95, starring Martin Landau, no less.

Before that, there was Drew Carrey's version.

Before that, there was the horror version "Pinnochio's Revenge"

Before that, there was the afore mentioned New Line Cinema version starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Before that, countless non Disney knock offs

I'm sure I'm missing something, but the one thing they all have in common: They all sucked. I'd like to see a live action, non-horror Pinnochio done, maybe set in the current day, but NOT made by Disney.

You're forgeting the highly anticipated but ultimately disapointing Roberto Benigni Pinnochio from just last year. I haven't seen it but I heard from many people that it was a royal stinker. Some nice visuals but poor adaptation and everyone seems to agree, as much as Roberto is a beloved comedic actor, this was definitely not a role he should have taken upon himself.

That was what I was forgetting. I want to forget about it again.

On the plus side, a live action Peter Pan movie is headed for theaters this christmas, and I have a lot of faith in this one because for the time EVER in a live action movie, Peter's going to be played by a REAL BOY. Not a grown woman, not Robin Williams, a real child. But as always, I'm reserving some judgement until at least the first preview is released.

You gotta wonder why Bennini was cast to play a very young boy when he's clearly a fairly old man... That's just disturbing.

Re: Disney's Pinnochio In 3D CGI

Anyway back the topic, I believe its just wrong for Disney to remake one of its timely classics, and bring it back in 3D-CGI. Disney will tarnish its image even more by this move. I say Eisner has to go, before more damage is done to a once proud traditional animation company.

I really hope Michael Eisner doesn't pull this stunt with Snow White. That would send disney to hell in a handbasket, if they aren't already there.

It's pretty bad that Disney sinks themselves this low. If they get rid of Pixar, I'll be very PO'ed. Not only do they make better films than Disney wants to, John Lasseter was the one who dug up the Miyazaki library so the films could finally get a release.

I always be a Disney fan to its older projects like Walt Disney Classics, 2D Animated Features Movies, and Disney Original Series of the late 1980's and early 1990's. I've haven't been much of a Disney fan lately, when Disney Chennel got rid of most its animation programming, and when Disney bought The Family Channel along with Saban.

The only thing I do like about Disney right now, is that they are releasing the animes of Miyazaki. I don't care for Eisner running the company. I just want to see Roy Disney in power.
