Animated Toy Talk. -Samurai Jack!

HI Everybody!

Welp, It seems to me that we have a nice number of toy collectors out there, on these boards. I figured that maybe it'd be nice to just have some weekly toy talk or something? Anyway...here's the subject I thought up...

A mysterious thing has happened in the world of Toys. Today(Friday the 10th), Cartoon Network will premier an all new show, Samurai Jack!
But, during regular schedualed programming, Cartoon Network has aired commercials for some fine-looking samurai jack action figures. There's a complete set of 6, I think. If you have aol, go to keyword "samurai jack". They have nice, big pictures.
Also, there's a contest, where "runners up" can win the complete(well..at least 5 of em') set of Samurai Jack action figures, quite some time before they are even released.
But, after reading the rules & prize information of the contest, I got the impression that the toys wont be released unless the show is a "hit". Which, according to the reviews, commercials, and other huge advertisements that we've seen..I'm sure it'll be great. So..I'd expect toys by September, October. at least in time for the Holidays..

BUT, here's the catch...
Who makes them? I've been to many toy websites, & none of them have a clue, and they've all been trying to find out! So..who could it be?

a.)Trendmasters? They do have a master toy license for certain Cartoon Network properties, like Dexters Lab, & PPG. SJ is made by the guy who worked on both DL & PPG. Sooo?? Maybe..or possibly..

b.)Lego? The big SJ premier is being MAJORLY sponsored by Lego. Also, Lego has had plans to expand into the action-figure market, with clear evidence of their new Bionicles line. Perhaps, & that's a BIG Perhaps, Samurai Jack is their first swing at a cartoon themed toy line that doesn't involve "building it".

hmmm...seems unlikely....

c.)Hasbro? There's a "Spinning sword" action Jack. Now, what is so cool about this line, is that his robe, in all of the pictures, is made out of actual cloth. So, on this figure, his cloth robe is ripped & stuff, exposing his chest & arms. & his body structure is almost identicle to the Batman Animated sculpts. That's what made me first think "Hasbro?"

BUT the problem with that is that the main SJ figure, is super-articulated. As in, it has more than 5 points of articulation. Unless these figures are 12" tall(And only 3 out of 5 look like they could be 12"), Hasbro would never make a figure under 7" with actual articulation. Hasbro sucks! yeehee! haha...anyway...

d.)Mattel. They've been known for making good toys every once n' awhile. And some of their sculpts are similar to Hasbro's Batman line. But...they sometimes lack on articulation as much as Hasbro.

e.)I have a guess that maybe Cartoon Network might have made these figures themselves? They have made personal-designed merchandise of their own, before. Maybe the creator guy simply wanted ful control of the toy line? I don't know..it's just a "what if" guess?

Anyway...that was kinda long & drawn out. But still...it's toy talk, people!
