Charlie Nash: Victim?
I certainly hope that this thread will not be deleted or edited.
Frankly, I have been to other message boards and they have maintained a very stable level of tolerance for posters and the things they post. While it is CERTAINLY not like me to scream "Freedom of Speech" since I think it is overated, I also think that for a message board to operate with some cadence, voices must be heard. CharlieNash has stated, very meticulously, certain things as being unjust on this page. Why not let him speak his mind? If you disagree, simply let him be. Or address the issue, but don't bar the topic. As any psychologist will tell you, this only sheds light on the fact that there is a problem and that you are only trying to avoid it: you are, in fact, only drawing more attention to it. We salute CharlieNash, and I hope that others do as well. |

Dear lord this is so overwrought it's hilarious. We salute Charlie Nash?! Justice?! Don't you think you're being a touch extreme? Sorry, but the guy was way over-exaggerating everything and giving little respect to Matt, who, it seems to me, puts in a LOT of overtime so we have up to date news and a community here. So I see no problem with barring those threads.

well, there are things.......
Sites exist for the viewer, not the creators, so THEY make it for US, without US, there would be no THEM. Otherwise, people would just have information about things in their heads & that would be the dead end of it all.
Many webmasters are like on this thing, where they're like "don't complain, I provide a service for you", BULL!!!!! It's a service you CHOOSE to offer! You offer a site, know the consequences, people are pains in the asses. Note: I've never seen this attitude here, other webmasters are notorious for it! "I offer this site for you & all you do is complain!" Maybe they shouldn't have offered it, LOL! We all do things we don't like to, see things all day long we don't agree with. Do we get to rip them down? No. My gripe about this site: OPINION LADDEN!!!!!!!!! To an extint....... things like "please support this show, don't support that show". It's a block for god's sake! There might be a show in there you don't like. I support whatever the hell I want to........ I turn on my comp, come to a site about the Adult Swim, I expect to see info about the programming on Adult Swim, wether it has been edited for kids or not! I am an adult, which says alot considering I watch AS(if you didn't get that, don't try because you will not get it), & SO WHAT IF SOME SHOWS AIR EDITED. Some level of tolerence is an adult trait. I don't appreciate the fact that the "higher ups" choose what gets to appear on the site, it screams of elitism. If it's on Adult Swim, IT's ON ADULT SWIM. Other than that, Matt is phat. |

If you look at the first thread, it was turning into one huge flame war, with everyone slamming Charlie. And Charlie wasn't changing his mind, so it wasn't going to stop anytime soon. Flame wars are not what we want, and they're against the rules.
The second thread was closed because you DO NOT undermine the authority of mods. And that's what you're doing if you have a thread of yours closed and then open the exact same topic up again immediately. Plus, you're creating the same problem that was solved by closing the last thread, which in this case was a flame war. Finally, if you have a problem with the way that any of the mods operates, it is preferred that you do this privately via e-mail or PM. It's actually against the Rules to complain about the mods on the boards, but Matt decided to leave the thread open anyways, at least until it just turned into a bunch of crap. I'm not meaning to sound threatening, Optimus, but if you had any problem with the closing of either thread, you should have PMed one of us. And finally, as far as "address the issue" goes...the issue has been addressed. Read the threads. Optimus, I don't understand what makes you think that Matt isn't covering ASA appropriately, and I don't know why you didn't reply to the topic before it became totally ridiculous. But I'm closing this thread because it's going down the same road to Flames-ville as the last two. |
