Nightwing's hair transformations...

He had short hair when he was Robin, and then a shaggy medium, almost mullet cut when he first started as Nightwing. Then to super long (depending on comic artist), and back to short which is slightly unruffled. Nightwing has certainly run the gambit as far as different hairstyles, wouldn't you say? So, which did you like best? Do you like the hairstyle he has in the early, middle, or recent days as Nightwing, the cartoon version, or what he had back when he was Robin?

That's just my opinion.

Gee Babs!
Wonder why you started THIS conversation...heehee! You wouldn't have a special...interest in Nighty or anything, would you?
But hey, I'm game...I liked the Robin BTAS hair best. Nice and clean-cut, but a little messy. He was such a prep...khakis and a sweater vest, but I loved it! I also really liked John Delany's Nightwing's hair on the drawing he did over at the Comics board

lol, who, me? Have thing about Nighty? You must be joking!

Well, I can't decide. I loved how Robin was in BTAS, how as Dick Grayson he has this great clean cut, prep boy look, and then, a few ruffles of the hair later, he's Robin. The mullet type thing in TNBA is nice, and I liked his long hair in the comics, but I think I'm more fond of the medium to short style. There was a period when he had short hair that was kinda shaggy, which I thought fit him really well. Now he has sort hair again, with those trademark bangs in his eyes, and it works perfectly still. I have a thing for guys with long hair, or short and somewhat shaggy hair, and even the prep boy look....and i wonder where I got that liking from....?

he looks better with the short hair, in my opinion. i have a thing for guys who have their hair that way, some bangs in the eyes. i have a thing for preppy guys, too. sigh. anyway, so yeah, short hair does it for me.

Barb also has a thing for Viggo Mortenson but i'm not too sure about that.

just by looking at the cartoon series, when did nightwing have a mullet. the introduction of nightwing was in "sins of the father" and he had long hair even then.

*dreamy eyes* Viggo Mortenson.....*cough*, what were we talking about? Well, you're right, it isn't really a mullet, persay. But I just remember someone referring to his hairstyle in TNBA as such and it's stuck. It is basically long, a little over his shoulders, but he has bangs in front. A mullet is long in back, short in front, so I suppose to some people it could resemble a mullet. I just see it as long hair with adorable bangs, but, well, you know me.

While the hair do as Robin in BTAS was good I think the best one he's had so far is courtesy of Scott McDaniel when he had his pony tail cut off in like issue 4 (? - can't remember). Dick just seems to look kewler with the short hair cut.

I dig the short-hair look. As Barb stated, it was always cool to see Dick with the slicked-down hair and then a few scene changes later, there's Robin with the tights and the spiky hair. I don't like long hair on guys, so maybe I'm biased.

My favorite designs of his hair was the spiky one in B:TAS and the current hair he has now in his comic series. Both of them look better on him to me, and it just matches Grayson's personality very well.

I like TNBA the best. I didn't like Nightwing too much until I saw him in the show.

Well, i really like the BTAS-style-spiky-hair-look, but i think the one used in the Nightwing comics works better for him. But only when done properly. I liked how it looked right after that Fox guy cut his ponytail off after he moved to Bludhaven. I thought it worked well in showing the movement without getting in the way (or looking bad )

DO WE all agree that the animated Nitewing suit looks much better than the one he sports in the comic books?

I think it does. The comic's style, to me, is not all that good. My favorite however, is the one in the John Delaney picture. It's just so cool.

Hmm, I do like the bird symbol that his costume has in TNBA, but all in all, I think I'm actually partial to his costume design in the comics. I'm just so used to it, it's so familiar, it's just grown on me. And yes, right after Fox slices off his ponytail (blessing in disguise), I love how his hair looked. I think it was one of the best styles right there, before Dick went and got it properly cut. It was a lot shorter than he had had it, but it was still not all that short, and it worked really well on him. One of my buds is highly amused at the fact that Robin just wore this little face mask to shield his identity. It's like...Dick Grayson, slicked back hair (a few moments later), a few handstrokes through the hair to tussle it up, and tada! It's Robin...and no one will know they're on and the same!
