Toon Zone Talkback - Peter Ramsey Announced as Director of DreamWorks' "The Guardians"

This is the talkback thread for Peter Ramsey Announced as Director of DreamWorks' "The Guardians".

Looks like DreamWorks keeps on trucking for their animated features. They have been on a role lately.

I read that this movie is based on a book series. Where do I find it?

From the article
Quote:
"The Guardians of Childhood" is a multi-story saga detailing the adventures of the immortal Guardians, who are sworn to protect children from the forces of evil. The books will be published as a series that features Joyce's distinctive illustrations and chronicles the origins of several childhood mythic figures, including Santa Claus, Jack Frost, The Easter Bunny and The Man in the Moon. Each book will highlight one character and will serve as back stories for characters that will be the subject of the full length feature film version.
So yeah, in the future you will be able to find these books. Not now.

Wait, so the book series that they're basing the movie on hasn't even been released yet? Aka, a book series that hasn't proven to be financially viable or sucessful yet? Sounds like a risky move to me...

Then again, maybe the whole idea is that, since Dreamworks is making a movie to go along with the series, and since Dreamworks animated movies are almost always sucessful, the book series will be riding on the popularity of the movie.

Hollywood does that all the time.
