Gerald McBoing Boing and Krypto AGAIN?!

To quote Wimpy from "Popeye Meets Sindbad the Sailor"

"I can't understand it".

I thought those shows were gone for good, especially since they aired under contract (Gerald McBoing Boing comes from Cookie Jar, Krypto comes from Warner Bros. TV, which is separate from Turner Entertainment, who runs Boomerang). At least they're not bringing Baby Looney Tunes back.

Not that I hate those shows or anything, but BOOM is not the place to air them (and I don't want to debate the issue, since it's already been debated "eleventy billion" times...).

Still, I haven't seen Valley of the Dinosuars in a while. I've never really seen The Adventures of Gulliver, so that will be interesting. I guess the Looney Tunes dispute is still ongoing since we're getting MGM shorts, but not those. If BOOM were to acquire the original Gerald McBoing Boing shorts that UPA (of Mr. Magoo fame) originally made, then I wouldn't mind so much...

I assume of course that Super Globetrotters and Jabberjaw will still be the PAL video versions (i.e., with the music sped up, and the picture leaving artifacts...I think that's how it is). I kinda wish that someone would find either the original negatives, or the NTSC video masters so BOOM could broadcast those, but I won't hold my breath of course. Still, it's my personal preference (see, I can tell that the sound isn't in the right key, but I digress).

Oh, well. I guess I'll manage somehow...

EDIT: slight spelling correction (their -> they're)

With the exception of Gerald & Krypto, I think this is a great schedule change. A lot of classics coming in and the ones that are leaving we've already seen a lot of. I'm really glad to see even more Scooby and an entire weekend for him.

I don't know what their fixation with "Krypto" and "Gerald McBoing Boing" is, but otherwise everything looks okay. I would have preferred they kept that hour of "Huckleberry Hound" instead of "Pink Panther," but that's alright.

The only thing I really have to say is thank goodness "Perils of Penelope Pitstop" is off the 12:30 AM slot. Rather than watching a news report repeat from the same night I turn on Boomerang when I go to sleep and its always "Penelope Pitstop," and to be frank, it's one of my least favorite Hanna-Barbera shows. At least now I can watch "Josie and the Pussycats," except on weekends, apparently.

And a little more diveristy with the Boomeroyalty and Boomerang Theater wouldn't hurt either.

All I can say is YES, YES, YES; at least Boomerang is putting more Scooby on the schedule and i'm guessing that weekend over Labor Day is in honor of his 40th anniversary, plus the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo on TV again, sweet! This will also be a good chance for me to finish up my Fan Fic versions of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo episodes with Fred and Velma, and no Scrappy.

I have only had Boomerang for a few months, so this will be the first time seeing Josie And The Pussycats on Boomerang, the question I have, in the past has Boomerang aired Josie And The Pussycats with the laugh tracks or is it without the laugh tracks like on the DVD release?

I'd be sad to see Pound Puppies go if they hadn't lost 5 episodes from the rotation. You'd think Centurions would stick around longer since it has a longer rotation of episodes.

I'm really glad to see 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo returning.

Interesting to note that I don't think Boomerang has ever aired "The Adventures of Gulliver" in its half-hour format before. As far as I can remember, it only airs during the "Banana Splits" syndicated package format. This should be interesting.

And I'm also glad "13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo" will be back on. That show desperately needs a DVD release as well as "New Scooby-Doo Mysteries." Love those '80s "Scooby-Doo"s!

I must be the only one who sees no problem with Gerald McBoing Boing and Krypto on the schedule. I mean, they're not classic cartoons granted, but still...I seem to be the only one who still likes those shows...

They still haven't gotten rid of Wacky Races and Penelope Pitstop, though. How long are they gonna keep airing these?

While the like the 60's episodes better, I wish they would keep the 80's Jetsons either in its own time slot or have it in the rotation with the 60's episodes, the original Jetsons it is only 24 episodes, it gets old after a while.

Here are my thoughts for the September schedule changes:

1. It'll be great to see Valley of the Dinosaurs again. I hope this time they'll give us more eps to check out.

2. I haven't seen too much of Adventures of Gulliver, but I WILL try and check it out. I vaguely remember seeing the reruns on syndication as a child, and it HAS aired on BOOM once before. The one character I remember was the pessimistic Lilliputian named Glum. His voice was a little annoying, though.

3. I'M GONNA MISS Centurions & Duck Dodgers!!!!!!

I wish they'd put back on Cattanooga Cats and Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kids. I REALLY miss those two.

Greetings all...new to these boards, so if this is not the thread to ask this please excuse. Anyway my cable provider has just gotten Boomerang and I'm hooked. Brings me back to the old Saturday mornings eating my favorite cereal at the time Vanilla flavored Cap'n Crunch...yep Vanilla, anyone remember the whale character?

My question is have any of these shows been on Boomerang in the past.....The animated Star Trek, Archies TV funnies, Underdog, Yogi's Gang, Heckle and Jeckle, Emergency +4, Beetle Bailey, Krazy Kat, Inch High Private Eye, those old Marvel cartoons where it looked like they were moving cutouts from the comic books and the 60's Spiderman cartoons.

I hope Boomerang is not going to do the pattern that Nick at Night did and the cartoon channel did. I mean Power Puff girls have NO place on this network. I recall a time when Nick at Night had all the cool old tv shows, then all the newer shows started to creep into the lineup. TV Land was created for all the old shows, now I see the newer shows making their way onto TV Land, as well as movies and original shows!!! Leave it to the classics. The Cartoon Chanel was like Boomerang at one time, all classics...then the newer shows and original shows were created, and now live action BS. Dont get me wrong it has it's place but there are enough classics out there that Boomerang does not need Power Puff Girls, and Rugrats on this network. JMO gang.

I wish Da Boom would stop airing shows with so little episode totals in weekday slots. As much as I'm happy to see Gulliver on the sched at last, it's on while I'm at work! There's only, like 15-20 episodes to that series, so, like Thundarr for example, it'll cycle through once a month at least.

Those Meddling Kids, Krypto, & Gerald return after a summer hiatus, but Gerald & Krypto in truth should share a time slot, since neither has really enough eps to sustain a daily berth. Moving Boomerang Theatre to 6 PM on M-W will work for me, though it's mostly the same movies that have aired many times already.

After showing much promise with the early evening timeslot of Thundarr, SWAT Kats and Centurions (the former two which frankly, have already been re-ran to the ground by Boomerang with so few episodes), the action genre has been compromised on Boomerang yet again. Why do they keep classic Quest (the worst offender of being re-run into the ground) on anyways? Don't they only re-run the classic 26 episodes? Ditto for "The Batman". I believe they only air the first two seasons (26 episodes) over and over. "Centurions", with 65 episodes, sure could've used another run. Its amongst the best and newest action shows that Turner has in their library, and has a decent amount of episodes.

"Boomeraction" has never totally recovered ever since that infamous day that Boom's 8-hour/yearly format was ditched in early 2005. Its showed signs several times since, but they've also been snuffed out like they were this time.

It is nice to see MGM cartoons are going back on the schedule in their own timeslot. Hopefully this time around they will be airing "One Mother's Family" and "The Stork's Holiday".

It baffles me to no end why the Boomerang Theatre repertoire is so small. There are a number of H-B features that they don't run. They only run half of the "Superstars 10" package (the ones they run being the 3 Scooby Doo features, Yogi and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose, and Jetsons Meet the Flintstones). There's also things like Heidi's Song, Alice in Wonderland, and The Man Called Flintstone, none of which I've seen on Boomerang in the last year.
