Just returned from it. Thought it was easily the weakest of the three Ice Age films. More in-depth comments to come.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Talkback *Spoilers*

I'm very suprised that there wasn't a thread already started for this (did I miss it?).

Anyway, I just came back from seeing this today. I thought it was great, even better than the first two!

Tons of humor, great story, excellent action scenes (the animation overall was fantastic)...there was not a single thing I didn't like about it.

I really loved this movie, and can't wait to see it again in theaters (can't wait to buy the dvd)!

I've heard that they've got a fourth movie planned, the rumored plot sounds good to me. I can't wait for the next installment, I can't get enough of this series!

There's a topic for it in the General Animation forum. This is the live action board.

EDIT: Gah, it's been merged. Never mind.

I was pleasently surprised by this, alot of the chartacters still hold most of thier charm from the first two, all the new eviorments and characters fit nicely into the Ice Age Universe.

I enjoyed it. It was a better third movie than most trilogies usually have (I'm looking at you Shrek 3). I really hope they don't do that rumored fourth one they are talking about. Three is good enough for me.

I think the rumored fourth one sounds like it'll be a ton of fun (and it's something that was kinda sorta hinted at being a possibility at the very end of the 1st movie...kinda). However, if they can't do it then # 3 ended the series nicely as well.

I agree that this was a great third movie (hopefully Toy Story 3 will follow in it's footsteps) and I do hope we get to see the fourth one made. Although, I'm not sure if they can pull off anymore movies in the series after that.

I kinda feel a 4th would drag the series a bit much. I'd say make it a tv series like they did with Madagascar.

Onto this movie now, I really enjoyed it; even more so than Transformers ROTF.

I did felt that it started a little slow until the baby rexes appeared, and dragged on a little until the final scenes.

I loved the new character Buck. A little crazy, but awesome nonetheless. I thought he made the whole story up about his run-in with "Rudy" until the end.

As always, the Scratt segments were funny, especially with the girl-Scratt involved.

The best part was the humor. It didn't feel tacked on and a couple of jokes left me with a chuckle or two. And I really love the animation.

Overall, this deserves a 4/5.

I watched this earlier today and it wasn’t bad, although I’m pretty sure I would have liked it even more if I had actually remembered the first two movies better. For example, I completely forgot about Crash and Eddie and it fazed me when they showed up, as it left me trying to piece together what loose memories I did have. Fortunately, I quickly reconnected with all of the characters and while I doubt that the experience was any more memorable than the first two, it was a fun enough movie to watch.

I really liked Buck. He was handled well enough to overcome his unoriginality, and I considered his brief moments of insanity to be some of the movie’s funniest moments. I’d like to see him again if there is another movie; I know that it could be difficult considering the way in which this one ended, but I’m sure the writers could figure something out.

I don’t agree with everything that you said, but you made a lot of valid points. I particularly agree with you about Diego, as it seemed like they didn’t really bother focusing that much on him this time around. I guess they just had too many characters to deal with. Oh, and the “Christmas Chipmunk” scene made me cringe as well. Easily my least favorite part of the movie.

I just got back from seeing it. I thought it was a pretty good (and funny) movie overall. I still haven't seen Ice Age 2. The scenes with Scrat and Scratte (is that how it's spelled?) were very amusing. Am I the only one who thought that Buck was way too over the top? I've seen some crazy characters, but he takes the cake!
