This is the talkback thread for "Delgo" Coming to DVD on August 4, 2009
This is a pretty bold move on Fox's part, and arguably a valiant one. But realistically, not only will they not make any money off Delgo, but they might even put the movie even further in the red with DVD manufacturing and warehouse costs (the lack of a Blu-Ray release is pretty damning as well)

Not necessarily. You have to take into account all the copies that are being bought up by Netflix, RedBox, Blockbuster Video and Hollywood Video. That's the majority of the profit from a DVD right there. Also, I've seen even the lousiest of kids movies do surprisingly well on DVD as well.

However, you'd have to take into account the current recession and the largely downward trend of DVD sales in general. And that's if Fox puts some money into advertising and awareness and doesn't just throw the DVD on the market with no fanfare.
