I can't believe it. The voice of Mickey Mouse that has been around during my entire life is no longer with us...There goes a huge part of my childhood. It will be very hard to find a decent replacement, but this hasn't been the first time Mickey's voice has been replaced.

Sad to see him die. Now you gotta wonder, who going to take up the mantle?

Also as a sidenote, your link isn't working.

Dang, he's been the voice of Mickey for as long as I've been alive. A real shame to see him pass.

RIP Mr. Allwine. You gave us alot of great fun. Thanks for all the hard work.

Man, I feel terrible about this. I was actually thinking a few weeks ago about what will happen when the current group of voice actors/actresses voicing classic Disney mascots start passing on. It's something you just don't want to happen, but that's life I guess.

I heard it was some complications from diabetes (type 2) and he was awaiting a kidney transplant...

He was an integral part of my childhood when I first got the Christmas carol on VHS. May he rest in piece.

Oh man, I don't normally even look in this part of the forum, but news this big caught my attention immediately.

Wayne was the voice of Micky for as long as I've been watching TV. A true legend, and also a great person from what I've read about him. Disney will simply not be the same without Wayne, so this is truly the end of an era.

I give my sincerest prayers to Wayne's wife Russi and their children. I hope that they will make it past this tragedy in good shape.

This... is completely out of nowhere. He's been Mickey Mouse for the longest and now he's gone?? This... I'm speechless. I really am. This is absolutely devastating.

I'm really sad that Wayne's gone. He was voicing Mickey longer than I have been around and now he's gone...I can't believe this...Rest in Peace, Wayne Allwine, your voice gave millions of people happiness.

Sounds like Mickey's in the Door of Light now.

(Sory, that's really hokey, it's almost 4 am here and I can't sleep)

My condolensces (sp?) to his family and his widow Russi Taylor (voice of Minnie Mouse).

Even I'm surprised. I didn't even know he was sick!

Still, this was really unexpected...

Wayne Allwine: "Requiescat in Pace"...

EDIT: Corrected last name spelling. I thought that's how his name was written.

I just heard about it...I can't believe he's really gone. He did an awsome job as Mickey. I feel sorry for his wife and family, I hope they'll be OK. Thanks for doing an awsome job voiceing a character that so many people love Wayne.

R.I.P. Mr. Allwine

Mr. Allwine was the first 'Mickey' voice I heard when I was a kid. He did a phenomenal job voicing one of the greatest cartoon stars ever and his body of work will live on forever. Condolences to his entire family.

I'm sure Walt, Jim McDonald, and Wayne are up there right now comparing their take on Mickey and having a great time.

I feel really sorry for poor Russi Taylor. For years she's played opposite her husband as Minnie, so it's probably going to be really uncomfortable the next time she goes into the recording studio to record lines addressed toward her husband's character.

And he wasn't really that old, either. This just isn't right...
