I didn't think it was possible but HB actually corrupted the Flintstones. (P.G)

I just saw the "On the Rocks." special for the 1st time and I must say that I was very suprised by what they where allowed to get away with during primetime. I mean how much induendo can you sneak underneith the censors? The rumbling bed, the whole Willman and Fred eating at dinner scene (then latter we here the same sounds in their bedrooms I mean my gosh. Or what about the way they had Betty and Barney talking.

"When people love eachother they do specail things."
"Yeah." says and overly giddy Barney.

or the bartenders.

"Pick you poision?"

At first I thought

"John K, this must be one of his, just like the Yogi cartoons he did a while back."

But I couldn't find his name in the credits. When I saw that it was Tartakosky that infact oversaw the thing I was shocked, I just didn't see him as the kind of person who would be involved in making a movie like this.

Anyway if this is the kind of stuff CN would air in primetime, then I can't understand why they have to do some of those edits on Toonami.

Awe, now yor making me wish I'd watched it. Dexter's Lab is full of inuendos. I'll put up a post listing the ones I know of someday. Also, when Barney made a cameo on DL he was in a similar model.

I think "On the Rocks" is brilliant, and I loved every minute of it. Of course, I think it's more geared towards adults than kids, but I do believe a lot of the stuff we sit up and take notice of will go over kids heads, anyway.

Yeah, it's an excellent movie. This is my second time in getting to see it, and it definitely didn't dissapoint this time 'round.

Hey, it's from Genndy Tartavosky, the genius behind Dexter's Lab.

As soon as he updates Yogi and Co., I'll be happy.

The flintstones have always been geared more to adult, it was just the cartoon version of the honey mooners. It always had (some) stuff like that in it.

After watching it again this morning, I think the only thing close to being suggestive is when Fred and Wilma are listening to Barney and Betty enjoy the benefits of their vibrating bed. But I don't think that's entirely inappropriate in a cartoon geared towards kids.

I should say that The Jetsons toons aren't good. They're kind of crappy for TV, but they're funny for a webtoon. But that's why they're on the web.

Sneaking stuff in is half the fun. Just watch an old Bogart-Bacall movie!

Actually, you didn't even mention the most blatant line: "Wilma, I'm about to give you something you haven't felt in a long time."

I thought it was really good, and I loved the design work on the characters. I'd love to see more of these. Heck, if we're going to make new Scooby toons, why not make new Flintstones? "On the Rocks" proves they can do it.

I finally saw "On the Rocks" this morning. I don't know why I didn't catch this earlier. It was terrific. I just love how they snuck mature stuff in just about every scene. The voice actors were good, but the standout was Tress MacNeille; I always knew she was talented, but there were moments when I thought she was Jean VanderPyl. This had me from the opening scene, which was even funnier than in the previews. I also liked that mystery woman; when she let her hair down, wow!

Does anyone know if this is on VHS or DVD?

Don't forget Wilma trying to get Fred "in the mood."

Unfortunately, no home video release has been announced yet. As far as I am concerned, they should have given this at about the same time as the Samurai Jack DVD, since they both premiered at about the same time.

I LOVE Flinstones on the Rocks. I think the hidden "jokes" are great, and I personally like the animation dsigns better than the original.
