I also have two more people who should be interviewed for the retrospective feature.
Denny O'Neil & Neal Adams I remembered their work with the Green Lantern/Green Arrow team ups. Especially the storyline Snowbirds Don't Fly, which talks about a serious issue in the 70s (as well as today), drug abuse. |

Really? I had no idea that there was a Green Lantern DTV coming out. I really hope that it's Kyle Rayner that's featured in the film.

Sorry ABrown, but the Green Lantern they'd be using in Green Lantern is the one and only Hal Jordan.
So is Green Lantern the official title? If so, I wonder what the story is about. It sounds like an origin story will be the DTV, which I question given the story of New Frontier. |

I think that the Green Lantern movie should be Sinestro Corps Wars

After New Frontier, I doubt they'll just go with Hal Jordan. If they do, that sucks. I hope they show the main corps, I.E. Hal, Kyle, John, Guy and maybe even Alan.

It's a sad day when the "main Corps" for GL is a bunch of humans. Though I may not be Hal's biggest fan, I do have to say that his early days seem to be when the concept was at its most pure, before it became more and more focused on Earth men. If anything, a group of characters to use as a "main Corps" should probably be Hal Jordan (or whatever requisite human), Kilowog, Salaak, Tomar Re, Katma Tui and maybe throw in G'Nort for a dash of comic relief. When it comes to GLs, Kyle's my favorite. I always liked the GL concept, but rarely was ever drawn to the character of Hal Jordan. I never liked John Stewart or Guy Gardner at all. Hal was too much the confident BMOC type. Handsome, fearless, good with the ladies, etc. I like Kyle because he's basically a regular guy trying to work with an amazing opportunity that was thrust upon him. However, since Hal seems to be the one DC is supporting most, and the guys behind these DTVs seem to be old-school Silver and Bronze Age fans, it'll probably be him. I figure though, rather than fight it, better to flow with it and the Silver Age mindset. They can make their Hal GL movie. However, I'll just cross my fingers and hope for a Flash movie starring Barry Allen. Barry was really the first "everyman superhero" in comic books anyway.

I know I know this will sound weird (or to a certain extend stupid) but: Cant a GL DTV be about ALL of the Earth Green Lanterns together as in the same movie but in different eras, dimmensions or something like that? Is this an origin movie!??? Sorry!

Personally, I'm just hoping for a villain other than Sinestro. I like Sinestro fine and all, but he's been the feature villain for every GL guest appearance for about the last ten years worth of animation (STAS, Static Shock, Duck Dodgers, The Batman, and it looks like he'll be the villain in B:B&B also). Rebirth is totally unworkable (and unnecessary) as a standalone; it's a giant continuity reset, it doesn't work outside a situation where there's actually continuity.

"Frontier" was packed with characters other than Hal Jordan, so wouldn't adding more characters to the GL DTV simply be trading one ensemble cast for another?
I think that GL fans see the Corps characters (Hal, Kyle, John, Kilowag, etc) as an ensemble capable of being featured in a balanced way. They all have the same powers, they all do the same job, so showcasing them as different individuals with different purposes in the story would be the way to go

In March, when WW comes out. If they've only told us about it now, it must still be in development, probably at the script stage, maybe closed to being finished storyboarded.
