Comments on Freddie Prinze Jr. as Terry McGuiness

In a recent issue of Wizard magazine there was a large section for upcoming comic-to-film movies coming out. Batman Y1, Batman Beyond, Spiderman, Hulk, Fantastic 4, etc. In these articles they included possible outcomes and the buzzing rumors surrounding these upcoming films. But what caught my eye was the mention of Batman Beyond. How Freddie Prinze Jr. could be a possible candidate to play our hero Terry McGuiness. Of course these are yet rumors, nothing has been confirmed, but here is what I think.

I don't like the idea of him playing Terry. Though he is a heart throb icon to the majority of young women, I think he may tarnish Terry's image as Batman and or Terry. I'm sorry if any of you are Freddy Prinze Jr. fans, but I don't think he can act. To me, he just seems to have this "good looks and a smile" mentality with no acting ability. It really seems the only reason why he'd be choosen is because he looks like a Terry McGuiness, not because he can act like one.

I donno about his acting but he looks like he could be Terry.
If he is gonna play Terry I hope he doesn't give us that "I look good and here is my pretty smile".
I still think that guy who played Max in Roswell should play Terry...

But he's so dreamy!! No no I'm kidding. I have nothing against the kid, but he's no Batman Beyond, that's for sure.

But wait!! Oh I'm sorry it's a moot point anyway! He's blonde now! He dyed his hair! I'm sorry that's just not the kind of action we would want Terry McGinnis to do. So now you don't even have the right hair color. Oh well, next audition....

LoL. That's right. Mr. Prinze Jr. has blond hair now. It must still be blond from playing Fred in the upcomig release of the live action Scooby Doo film. Anyhow, I'm glad to see we're on the same page for not wanting him to play Terry. I'm sure this question has been asked to death, but who would you like to see play Terry in the live action Batman Beyond film?

whoever plays tery should be someone with, for the lack of better words, a "bad boy" side. freddy's just too darn clean cut. if he didn't have the history of chick flicks, he might be able to pull it off, but seeing that fact just ruins any chance for him...

BTW, does anyone know of anyone better for the part?...

I seen him act in AMERICAN BEAUTY , he can act. He looks more like Terry than Prinze could ever. He has the looks and the acting ability, what more could we want?

Let Prinze stick to playing "Freddy" in Scooby Doo, hire Wes!

I think I would almost rather see Nicholas Cage star as Superman. And that's saying quite a bit.

I don't he's bad at all. He'd bring Terry to life better than Prinze. the guy can act in serious roles, not some teen love comedy!

He would be perfect!! He was simply captivating in American Beauty ... he's got the looks, attitude, eyebrows!! And - as you say - he can act!! Who do we have to beg then ... ??!!

We should start a petition of some sort. But on another note, his eyebrows were one of the main features that caught me, they remind me so much of terry's. In AMERICAN BEAUTY, he barely smiled; always looked serious, just like McGinnis wouldn't u say?

That's a cool pic! All we need to do is give him a bit longer hair in that photo and he'd match nearly perfect. if he were to get the role, they should give him the Matrix treatment; have him train his butt off in Martial Arts!

Again, I think Wes would make an awsome Year One Bruce. He's to good to play Terry. How about someone who's actually, gasp, a teenager!! I think terry should be played by an unknown. Like Hammil in Star Wars. Terry is a star-making role. Bruce should be a well known actor like Eastwood or Newman. Terry just needs to be likeable and sympathetic.

I second that, Bird_Boy! Freidle is a good looking kid (provided he loses some weight.) Freddie Prinze Jr. is a big dork, and both the guyz from Roswell and American Beauty are too ugly to play Terry. Hair can be died, so that isn't a big issue. Focus more on the body and face.

Actually, I would rather see every character played by an unknown. I think I would make a pretty shway Batman.

Actually Will has lost weight. He has a show on starting this Tuesday on NBC called Go Fish and you will notice that he is back to his normal weight. I think he would make a great Terry. He already has the voice down! HA! Contacts and hair dye and he is it!

Right on! He has cool eyebrows (I have never seen such pointy eyebrows before!) like Keaton and he is an excellent actor.

Okay, he needs to lose a little weight at the moment , but I'm sure for a chance to play Batman he would lay off the lard

As for Freddie Prince..... no thank you, IMO he's a berk and I've not found him a very strong lead in any movie yet. Granted, he was alright in American Beauty, but he was not having to carry the film.

Will can do it - and should do it too.

I think Morgan Weisser would make a good Terry McGinnis. He played Nathan West on Space: Above and Beyond.
