“Teen Titans: For Life And Love”

I do not own any of the Teen Titans characters, places, stories, or anything else except for the minor changes I have made to this particular story.

Oh, the memories. Raven’s many different sides, Beast Boy’s craving for tofu, Cyborg’s wise observations at the Tournament of Heroes, as well as Robin and Starfire’s hidden but ever so true passion for one another. The Titans have fought their enemies valiantly and have earned respect in JumpCity. People around the world have heard their adventurous and heroic tales, but no one has heard about who ultimately brought the fall of Slade. Such a story would wreak havoc in the hearts of its audience.

But what if such a thing never happened? What if we could go back to the “point of impact” and change our past, present, and future? What if the things that the eyes of the Titans beheld on that one, fateful and mortifying night never happened? If this is true, we are asking the right question. What if?

Rewind back to the one moment in time where the Titans’ lives changed forever. Back to the struggle between power and love, death and hope. Rewind back to the night Terra was taken from them, that fateful night at the amusement park.

“Beast Boy! Move!” Terra hovered on a rock about fifty feet in the air. The same yellow glow that enveloped the small piece of earth beneath her enveloped the earth beneath the large Ferris wheel, and it came crashing down in a heap of metal. The troubled changeling met Terra on the ground, and they ran for the mirror house.

“Come on!” Beast Boy yelled to a mirror depicting an almost real image of Terra.

“Uh, Beast Boy? Over here.” Terra stood in the small space between two deceiving Beast Boy impostors.

“Oh, right.” They ran throughout the passage with steps that could be heard following close behind. These soft footsteps seemed to be as identical as the mirrored portrayals of the two, but their small difference in rhythm signaled that Slade was not far behind. Rounding a corner, both Terra and Beast Boy stopped. Dead end. A room full of mirrors with one way in and out, and their worst fear was not far behind.

“Aaah!” Terra screamed, and Beast Boy’s only reflex was to turn around.

“Where—“ Beast Boy cut his question short when he saw what was reflected throughout the room. Beast Boy, in a tone heard in its most noted use by Robin, confirmed his fears quietly, “Slade.”

“Correct, young changeling. You, in your apparent ignorance, would believe that my apprentice had a sense of affection for you. YOU would be as gullible as to accept a stranger and bring her so close. Only fools rush in, young changeling.”

“NO! It’s not rue! It can’t be!” IN his denial of the truth, Beast Boy slammed his gorilla fist into the closest mirror.

“You can deny it forever,” Slade laughed, “but nothing do, say, shout, or cry can change the truth. The truth hurts…bad.”

A rage that he had never felt filled every vein in Beast Boy’s body. How could such a convincing and seemingly loving friend be such a devilish and deceiving impostor? He morphed into his ever popular gorilla once more and took out his anger…mirror by mirror. When every mirror and every hope had been shattered, Beast Boy became himself again and dropped to the ground crying inside and out. His knees and fists hit the ground simultaneously, though the force with which his hands hit was immeasurably larger than the force of his knees due to the anger he was slave to.

“Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!” Beast Boy screamed, the vibrations resonating for what seemed eternity. Time slowed, and all events but those in the mirror house stopped. Beast Boy cried out and stood up with what little strength he had left; his pain had drained him of any previous hope. The broken glass that lay around him could represent his broken heart no more adequately than the sun brings light. His regret drowned out his last fight for the truth, the truth that Terra still had that one speck of good inside. His hope diminished, Beast Boy let go, and the tears streamed even harder.

Slade and Terra stood in the doorway watching Beast Boy weep in pain. The tears welled up in Terra’s eyes as they had in Beast Boy’s. They fell slowly and clouded her vision. With what vision she had, she watched in pity of his pain, and she cried in pain of her betrayal. Slade placed his hand softly on Terra’s shoulder.

“Come, apprentice. There’s been a change of plans.” Both took a step back, but that was the first and last step for Terra. She pushed off Slade’s hand and turned around.

“No. Not again.” The worst thing she could do was give in again; she wasn’t going to do it this time. Turning around, Terra noticed a sense of shock wipe over Slade’s whole being, as well as a slight taste of utter fear. The earth behind Terra rose into the air with a gold resonance about it. She wasn’t quick, but it was as if Slade gave up. Right before the rock struck him, Terra thought she heard a soft whisper from Slade,

“I have nothing to live for.” She was absolutely wrong. This distressed whisper came from Beast Boy as his rage caused him to mistake Terra for Slade, and he jumped in front of the devastating attack. He and Slade fell to the icy, stone ground together, ensnared in a mound of rubble.

Terra wept for months, but for a good reason. Her shock drove her crazy for at least the next six months, but she still felt a plethora of regret when she came to her wits. When she finally did come out of her room, she gave up her past and vowed to defeat any evil that opposed her… or her friends. She also vowed to never love or trust again. Never.

anywho, that was totally awesome (i'm to much of an okie to say wicked...here that just means evil...) and i'm really amazed no one's said they hate TTG yet, i mean he did kill Beast Boy (*sticks out lip whining, "but i'm the one who kills off main charachers!"*) yeah.....

glad you posted it! (it was just as good the second time as the first. even better in fact because i didn't have to struggle with your handwriting....)

so uh......glad you got your Nintendo DS thingy for christmas and see you on monday (curse the freakishly short break)

That was an odd, albeit very interesting spin on one of more famous events in the Titans' history. Plus it was brilliantly written to boot.

Don't coun't on any continuations. Maybe in the FAR FAR future.

And BTW, that was one of the best comments I've ever had, and I immediately thought it was for Matt. (BTW my name's Matt too) so thanks.

Let me explain: He did this short story.

You liked it.

He thought whenever you were talking about him he thought you were talking about Welshie's Mate

He was wrong.

He isn't going to continue this because he's writing a Teen Titans fan fic. One that he refuses to post until he's done.
