Is It Official ?

Is it official? Will there be a season 3 or will season 2 be it? Where is Flash?
And is it true we will be seeing a certain purplish, dark villain (who has wreaked havok for Superman before) come back? I would like to know. And b.t. if you are out there, please drop us some clues.

Flash is confirmed to be in the next season. As far as the other questions, dunno.

There will be a Season 3 of JLU (Season 5 of JL).

I presume he'll be back sooner or later due to several cryptic comments from the creative team and the numerous Fourth World characters who are appearing.

Thank you for answering. The one I was not sure of was a season 3, because Cartoon Network has not issued an official word as to it ever happening. Now, does anyone out there know the next batch of 13 episodes? Titles and Synopsis?

I personally hope we eventually see Ra's al Ghul cross swords with Batman and the JL at some point. He's probably the only Batman villain I can see going toe-to-toe with the league.

Well, he can't do it all at once or it'll kill him. He's got to work his way up the manly scale. First he turns into Lance Bass, then Rupert Everett, then Scott Stapp, David Duchovny, Russell Crowe, Wesley Snipes, Rosie O'Donnell, and then James Earl Jones.

Its a bit too early for that, but we do have 6 titles (not in order, though).

Spoiler:
"The Cat and the Canary"
"Miracles Happen" (to be changed)
"Mystery in Space"
"Double Date"
"The Balance"
"Clash"

All of this info can usually be found in the rumor thread so I direct you over there for any additional questions.

You're not the only one, but it seems that Batman Begins and The Batman have stopped any chance of that happening. More and more, the JL creative team's attempt to distance the first season of JL from the other DCAU shows seems like a mistake. The continuity was so thin that some began questioning its connection to the other shows. Thankfully Season 2 and JLU have fixed that, but it seems 2000-2001 was the only time when Ra's was available to be used in an animated series. After that, he was probably snatched away to be used on Batman Begins.

If JLU lasts more than 52 episodes I can totally see them being allowed to use Batman's family and rogues again. But that's a big if.

Which is what I don't get. You'd think they'd want to give the character more exposure with the film coming out. Every other time a comic book film is made, they make sure that whatever characters in it get a little bit more exposure.

And funny enough, The Batman is forbidden from using Ra's al Ghul also. I e-mailed Greg Weisman about the show when I found out he was working on it several months back, and he mentioned that both Ra's and the Scarecrow were off limits until at least the third season because of the film.

Weird. Last time a Batman film came out, they made sure it's villain got plenty of exposure in the other mediums. What with "Sub Zero" and all. Yeah, I know B&R was one of the worst movies ever made, but using Mr. Freeze a lot was hardly the problem

Well, WB is kind of like a Lincoln-shaped corn flake. Its got some cool assets but in the end it just does some odd things.

...Yeah, I tried for that to make sense, but it didn't really work.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I saw the Scarecrow design online a few months back actually, but I guess they won't be able to use him.

Whoa...wait. Until the 3rd season? Then there might be hope for JLU being able to use some bat-characters. True, b.t. said he doesn't think the bat-embargo will be lifted any time soon but that could change. Then again, The Batman will most likely get priority so I guess i'm just getting excited about nothing.

Yeah, but then they delayed Subzero because it was the better film. And don't forget WB basically forcing TNBA to be a Bat-family show (or more accurately, a Batgirl show with Batman making an occasional cameo).

I hate to sound overly pessimistic, but I doubt JLU will go past 52 episodes. Its already an extension of a series that had hit the magic number and its been extended again. Another extension past 39 (or 52, depending on how long Season 3 will be) seems unlikely. There's always the chance that CN is viewing it as a completely separate show since they refuse to rerun the first 2 seasons of JL. You never know what those crazy rascals they call network executives will do next.

I REALLY hope the bat embargo is lifted for JLU's fourth season if there is one. There IS however precedent in WB lifting an embargo for a last season. After Buffy The Vampire Slayer moved to UPN WB forbid the Angel producers from making anymore crossovers or visits from Buffy characters. The embargo was lifted in Buffy's final season where Willow and Faith visited Angel and Angel visited Buffy on the last episode. WB basically said that because of Buffy's contribution to it's success they couldn't possibly deny Joss Whedon the oppurtunity to have Angel in the last two Buffy episodes. Perhaps WB will be similarly gracious regarding Bruce Timm after all the success he has brought them since 1992.

I could see JLU going past 52 episodes if Justice League has a DVD box set and it sells as well as the BTAS box set. But will WHV release it in time?

That would be so awesome, but I'm not going to get my hopes up so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I think the answer to that question, unfortunately, begins with an N and ends with an O. Especially after that pitiful forthcoming JLU DVD the only way they'll be able to redeem themselves (in my eyes at least) is by releasing JL and BB box sets next year.

Luckily b.t. is well versed in Buffy history so I'm sure he wouldn't be above playing the "After all I've done for you!" card.

There's a chance it will happen next year. A VERY small one but I'm keeping the faith. Jim Harvey has been "hinting" that stuff would happen in 2005 that would make ALL bat-fans very happy. True, he was wrong about the JLU release being good. But as it was a surprise release that is hardly his fault.

Okay sorry, who's this referring to again? Mongul's returned already, Despero isn't a superman villain, and Darkseid isn't exactly purple?

The Buffy/Angel embargo is a completly different situation then that of the TB/JLU/TT embargo. I mean Buffy had changed to a rival networks plus it was owned by Fox. JLU and TB may air on different networks but both the shows and the networks are owned by the same company. It is clear that they are higher powers at work then that of tv executives.

Also this whole bat embargo thing confuses me. I mean TB gets to use all the rouges gallery, yet Killer Moth, Solomon Grundy, and Deadshot characters that are all Batman rouges are able to appear in JLU and TT. Then you have Nightwing, Black Canary, Huntress, The Demon and Zatanna heros that all fall under the Bat umbrella and are able to appear in both TT and JLU. Add to the fact that a JL villian will be appearing in TB soon and you have one big headache. So does anyone know hpw this whole embargo thing is suppose to work?

He does have a hint of purple, but he's dark. And did I mention he shoots beams out of his eyes. Anyway, I meant Darkseid. I have a feeling he may be the last villain the J L U will tangle. Ra's Al Ghul could have been great for the J L U to take on. Oh, well. Then, there is Lex Luthor that could also be a possibility as the last villain the team will face. And one more I could think of besides those three I mentioned is Vandal Savage. All four together with the common goal of world domination would be great. It would be an interesting storyline if it were to happen. A well written one at that. Hmmmm....... Oh, well. So much for hoping. But if b.t. is interested in what I am saying, get in touch with me. I got ideas. And this one particular is a doozie.

Lex and Ra's need to team up. That would be incredible, and if they played like they were helping the government in its rogue-Justice League preparations, we'd get a nice conspiracy-within-a-conspiracy vibe going on.

Would never work. Ra's al Ghul and Lex Luthor are very different villains, very different goals. Very incompatible.

'Different goals'? They both want to rule the world. They're not that different.

... But now that I think about it, that's precisely why they wouldn't work together. They'd tear each other apart.

Still, it would be fun for them to meet. It would be even more fun to see them cross swords, with the JLU caught in the middle.

Ra's al Ghul basically is an uber-environmentalist, he wants to save the world, by wiping out 99% of the population. He will then be worshiped as, well, the Demon's Head.

Lex Luthor is an uber-capitalist.

Think about it.
