You really need to read The Shadow before you read this. Oh yeah, I am doing this in first person because that is the best way to do it.

Piece of My Mind

Chapter 1

The letter

As told by Nevermore:

Hello, my name is Nevermore. As you can probably guess by my name, I am not a normal person. In fact, I used to live in that T-shaped building on that island.

That is, I used to live there.

If you know anything about that tower, the Teen Titans live there. They are a team of super hero's. They haven't changed since I left, and that's because I am immortal, and anyone that I live with is immortal too. Even though I left, I still visit.

I know what you are thinking, "If we are such good friends, why did I leave?" That is a complicated story, and it all started with a letter.

As Told By Beast Boy:

I couldn't believe my eyes! Neither could any of the Titans, especially Starfire.

There was a letter from Tameran, which is Star's home planet, and it was for Nevermore.

Nevermore is a strange teen. He is the same height as Raven, and dresses just as dark. He is blonde and has one green eye, the other looks just like a raven's eye. He used to travel before he became a Teen Titan, but he never mentioned going to Tameran.

I was about to open the letter when Nevermore walked in.

"What are you all looking at?" he asked.

"You got mail," Robin said.

"From my home planet," Star said with a puzzled look on her face.

Nevermore took the letter from the tall alien girl and opened it. He stared at it for a while and his eyes grew wide. He stuffed the letter in his pocket and started running to the door.

"What's wrong, Nevermore?" Raven said in her usual monotone voice.

"We need to get a room ready!" Nevermore said.

"Why?" Cy asked.

"My sister is coming to Jump City!" Nevermore said as he ran out of the room.

This seemed a tad disjointed. I dunno why, maybe the change in perspective. Also-I don't believe that Nevermore's sister is tamaranian. That's a bit farfetched.

Short but very, very sweet. There seems to a plot "pivot point" developing already, which means that you should get to the core action nice and quickly - always a good idea with sequels.

I'm also liking the promise of bad stuff happenning. A forbidding prologue always gets people's attention (check my own story, Dwyr Budr, for one of the more...interesting examples of this).

P.S. Was the letter from Tameran because his sister was just living there? 'Cause it doesn't seem right for her to come from Tameran, and Nevermore to come from Azerath...

ok i'm the only one who gets this i guess. Nevermore AND Skylark are both from Azarath. Skylark is living on Tamarain or is just on Tamarain. THEY'RE BOTH FROM THE SAME PLANET!!!!!

If you really paid attention to my fanfic, you would have remembered that Skylark is from Azarath, it's just that she left to get revenge on the one that killed her parents.

Hey, I got it too! The fact that Skylark is only staying on Tamaran, and wasn't actually born there, is the only logical explanation. And if Nevermore suddenly couldn't do logical consistency, then I would have to get very disapointed indeed...

so few people use other planets in their fics. If you went by the fanfics on this board, there would only be three planets in the universe-earth, azarath and tamaran.

Not really complaining, just wanted to point that out. Besides-this is starting out well. another good story coming up.

Chapter 2

arrival

As told by Raven:

Nevermore let us see the letter. It said that his sister was on Tameran, looking for the one that killed their parents.

We now know that her name is Skylark, but she likes to be called Lark.

She said that she had gotten a message from Swift, who helped Nevermore get back to Earth after he was sent back to Azarath, that told her where Nevermore was, and she was going to visit us. She said that she hasn't searched Earth yet, so maybe she'll find the murderer here.

We just got her room ready. It took a long time, so she had better like it. I lost some valuable time helping out, but Nevermore was happy that I helped, so it's okay.

I just heard someone knocking. It could be Lark.

As told by Cyborg:

I was the first one to get to the door. It had just started to rain, so I opened the door as quickly as possible.

When I opened the door, I saw a cloaked figure. The person walked in and thanked me. This person was a girl.

She put her hood down, revealing her head. She looked just like Nevermore, except she had longer hair and both her eyes were normal.

"You must be Lark," I said holding my right hand out, "I'm Cyborg."

Lark extended her right arm out from behind the cloak. I was surprised! I was shaking another robotic arm! It looked a lot like mine, but it was all white.

"It's nice to meet you Cyborg," she said.

Her voice was a lot like Raven's, but it was a bit higher. It showed no emotion at all. I guess that her powers are drivin by emotion too.

The other Titans showed up one by one. Nevermore was first. He didn't like to hug at all, (and would practically kill you if you hugged him) so he just shook her hand too.

Beast Boy was next. He just said, "What's up," and held up his hand for a high five. Lark just stood there staring at him as if he was crazy. Beast Boy was worried that he might have just gotten on her bad side. He was about to panic when Lark suddenly gave him the high five with her robotic arm. He yelped in pain and we all laughed.

Robin was next. He just said "Hi. I'm Robin," and shook her hand. Man, a lot of us just shake hands.

Star was after Robin. Oh no. She gave Lark a hug that could collapse a mountain. Lark was left gasping for breath for at least five minutes.

Raven was last. She said hi.

"Everyone meet Lark. Lark these are the Teen Titans." Nevermore said to Lark.

We all introduced ourselves, and gave her a tour of the tower.

She eventually took off her cloak. Unlike the picture that Nevermore showed us, she was wearing a blue sweatshirt, but she was still wearing pink jeans.

She seemed a little bit happier now that she was familiar with us, but she still showed very little emotion.

"Do you want to join us for pizza?" Robin asked.

"No, I already ate," Lark said, "But thank you anyway."

Lark went to her room after that.

As told by Lark:

After the Titan's warm welcome, I went to my room. It was painted bright pink. This made me happier. I was in a bad mood today. I had a long journey from Tameran, which was horrible, and when I had gotten to Earth, it started to rain. I was cold, but the warmth in the tower felt good. I decided to get some sleep. I would be in a better mood in the morning.

The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were very soft. I was already feeling much better.

Nevermore really paid attention to what I put into my letter. I told him that pink was my favorite color, how the bed should be, and many other things. He got everything right. He even had a place for me to put my sword.

I hope that the Titans don't ask me what my powers are.

The last line, was very original, but in a very good way. The spacing...maybe it's just me, but I skip a line when someone else starts talking, and by that I mean like this.

"PIE IS GOOD!" I said.

"I KNOW!" Bob said.

"APPLE IS DA BOMB!" Frank replied.

That's how I do spacing. also, the POV (Point of view) was a little out of order.

Exaple:

"No, I already ate," Lark said, "But thank you anyway."

Lark went to her room after that.
As told by Lark:

That just kinda confused me. Everything was so cramped together. Besides that, Good chapter. Write more please.
