John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #62

Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

The Intro
Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone!

Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be!

The Low Down:
The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm Eastern the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action!

You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread.

The Rules:
We ask that all users encourage each other to abide by the rules.

Rule #1
Respect others on the boards. It's one thing to disagree with the opinions of others and discuss it. It's another to insult them by verbally bashing the choices of the poll. Do not insult any choices on the poll.

Rule #2
If rule 1 cannot be adhered to, you will be warned. If the situation happens again, banning will occur. There is no strike three.

Rule #3
The moderators reserve the right to suspend the poll for a week (or more) if they deem that the situation warrants.

Rule #4
Campaigning is allowed and encouraged, but in consideration of everyone with slower connections, all images should be thumbnailed. If an image program is not available to assist in that, then they must be linked to. Any post with images larger than 300 pixels in width, will have to be deleted.

Requests:
Keep on sending requests in!!! If there's a character you'd like to see back on the poll again, send requests for that, too. Please keep in mind, if a character has won a previous poll, he or she is not eligible for future polls (unless certain circumstances apply... i.e. Batman & Superman in a group JL Shot). Send all requests to delaney_requests@toonzone.net. Do NOT send them via Private Message. Any requests sent in via Private Message are not considered for the polls.

The Gallery:
Make sure to take a look at the Gallery, which collects all the images done for this poll.

Got all of that? Great! Let the voting begin on "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

Hmmm...this one was a little tougher for me. I like Rikku cuz I loved FFX. I would have easily chosen Lex Luthor, but if it's his silver age version, that means he's not bald - and I don't like him with hair. He's just not the same. So, I went with the MIB trio. You get more bang for your cyber-buck that way, anyway. Three for the price of one.

For those that need the text list

Rikku (Final Fantasy X)
Tycho & Gabe (Penny Arcade)
Numbah Three (Kids Next Door)
Jay Sherman (The Critic)
Lex Luthor (Silver Age DC)
Fujiko (Lupin III)
Jay, Kay & Elle (MiB: TAS)
Dante & Randall (Clerks: TAS)
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
Mysterio (Marvel)

Really no contest for me:
I had to vote MIB this week.

only other thing close would have been Jay Sherman.

p.s. I am sure Tim can answer this one for me, Who is Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law?

I'd say anyone has a chance this time. Can't automatically call an AS win here because the vote is really split for 'adult' cartoons. Jay Sherman-Clerks-Harvey Birdman-Fujicakes, all appealing to the same voters.

Oh crap. With the exception of Numbah Three, I'd like to see a sketch of all of these people...for once I honestly can't decide on one. I guess I'll give it a day or so and see how the campaigns go...

I had a hard time decideing but I picked Rikku for a few reasons. 1. Fujiko and Harvey Birdman don't seem like charactors that would make an interesting sketch, 2. The reason I bought Final Fantasy X was because I liked Rikku. To end this post I must say...

Please vote for Rikku or Fujiko!

OK, MiB fans, get yourselves ready! This time we've got not one, not two, but all three of our favorite agents in this week's poll! That's Jay, Kay & Elle together to rid the world of alien scum! (I know I'm doing a silly movie plug. )

Anyway, make sure you vote and when you do vote for the MiB!!!

(I know I shouldn't say that because, as I know, any character deserves a shot too. If not for the MiB, I would've gladly voted for Fujiko. She's my only favorite anime character. )

Almost forgot, I hope Delia will have a chance to vote. I only hope she'll be able to take a time-out from studying for finals just to vote for her #1 favorite trio! She's been waiting a looooooong time for this!

C'mon, everybody! Let's do it for her!

VOTE MiB!!!!!!!

The thing is, I don't remember the point of the commercial, I think itwas just her disappearing. Anyone ever seen it?

I have to admit that Jay and Fujiiko made me think twice, but I ultimately voted for Birdman.

Vote Birdman - He's The People's Choice!™

If you don't vote Birdman, who knows? He could lose his home, job, and fateful Avenger COULD run away. Would you like to be the causer of so much grief? Or better yet, vote Birdman, and he won't come to beg you for money.

While MiB was a tough choice to pass up (Get them drawn and get done with it!), I couldn't betray my ultimate love, former 60's superhero-turned Attorney.

VOTE BIIIIIIIIIIRDMAN!!!!

Seriously, vote for him....now.

I'll wait till Friday to pass my judgement, but I know that it will either go to Jay Sherman or Harvey Birdman....or Clerks.

At first I couldn't decide between Jay, the PA boys and Fujiko. Then I saw Dante and Randall, and instantly knew who to vote for... And then I saw the MIB. I requested Jay & Kay, and Delia's been wanting an Elle sketch for who knows how long, so the MIB had to be!

My vote goes to the Penny Arcade guys. Penny Arcade is one of the many online comics I find entertaining and they paved the way for webcomics. Runner ups: MIB.

This is the easiest voting decision I've had for a long time.

Not only am I fond of the MIB characters in their own right, but I *really* like the idea of giving our excellent colorist a well-deserved treat.

May this finally be your week, Delia!

Well, none of the choices really excited me this week, so I thought I'd be nice and vote for Delia's posse.

Delia's gonna kill me for this, but... I voted Rikku. FFX is one of my most recent game obsessions, and I absolutely love Rikku's character design (even in FFX-2 where she... has considerable less clothing).
