John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #52 - John's Choice!

Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

The Intro
Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone!

Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be!

The Low Down:
The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm Eastern the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action!

You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread.

The Rules:
We ask that all users encourage each other to abide by the rules.

Rule #1
Respect others on the boards. It's one thing to disagree with the opinions of others and discuss it. It's another to insult them by verbally bashing the choices of the poll. Do not insult any choices on the poll.

Rule #2
If rule 1 cannot be adhered to, you will be warned. If the situation happens again, banning will occur. There is no strike three.

Rule #3
The moderators reserve the right to suspend the poll for a week (or more) if they deem that the situation warrants.

Rule #4
Campaigning is allowed and encouraged, but in consideration of everyone with slower connections, all images should be thumbnailed. If an image program is not available to assist in that, then they must be linked to. Any post with images larger than 300 pixels in width, will have to be deleted.

Requests:
Keep on sending requests in!!! If there's a character you'd like to see back on the poll again, send requests for that, too. Please keep in mind, if a character has won a previous poll, he or she is not eligible for future polls (unless certain circumstances apply... i.e. Batman & Superman in a group JL Shot). Send all requests to delaney_requests@toonzone.net. Do NOT send them via Private Message. Any requests sent in via Private Message are not considered for the polls.

The Gallery:
Make sure to take a look at the Gallery, which collects all the images done for this poll.

This Week:
In honor of Week 52, indicative of 1 full year of Delaney Sketch polls, we've decided to let John tell us which characters he wants to sketch. This week, our first ever Delaney's Choice poll. This weeks contestants come from him and him only. Some may have been previous winners, but should the character win, John will present in a new way.

Got all of that? Great! Let the voting begin on "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

Wow! Lots of good choices this week! It was going to be a hard decision for me until I saw it - the one and only option as far as I'm concerned: Batman in a realistic style. Sorry, but I'm too much of a Batman fanboy to even consider any of the others here.

oo awesome! I've just got to go with the main guy, Batman. All of them are great choices, and I was quite tempted to go for Black Canary...but Batman won out!

I could have sworn I'd chosen Cloud - I could have sworn it!!! But somehow I've subconsciously chose Bats. No biggie as he was my second choice, but it's funny how the subconscious guides you... I was just thinking about Bats... teach me to multitask when sleepy!

Gotta have my Batman!

If it's realistic style, does that mean we get to see an Adam West? No?

Ah well.

Much like Clayface, I have to go with my favorite hero - Batman! I am very interested to see what John is going to do for this. Good luck, everyone!

I voted Wonder Woman because she's our uber cool lady super hero! She has quite a history in comics, and I think John could do an amazing job in portraying her!

Not too bad choices for this week. Of Batman, Fantasic Four, Wonder Woman, and The Hulk, I had to go with the big green guy himself. I used to enjoy Lou Ferrigno as him so this would make an interesting lifelike sketch, IMO. I hope he wins.

I went with Batman too. When you mean realistic, do you mean Alex Ross-realistic, or just non-animated-realistic (i.e. leaning more toward the comic book interpretation of the character)?

I went with the Hulk, you don't have to be a psychic to know who's going to win this one....

I'm glad you gave John this chance to pick the nominees- it's certain the winner will be somebody he wants to draw (and I wonder which one *he* voted for...?)

BTW: Who is 'Mr Terrific'?

It was down to Batman, Hulk and Fantastic Four for me. As awesome as a realistic Batman will be (yeah, I'm sure he'll crush the competition! ), I'd love to see a realistic Thing from Fantastic Four, so I went with them. Too bad I won't see it, but hooray for Batman!

It's great to see the FF return. They're possibly my favorite super-team of all time! Though it'll be a miracle if they can pull off a win against the Bat.

I had to vote for Batman. Granted it'll be the realistic style, and not the animated, I am still looking forward to seeing another amazing Delaney peice.

No! So many good choices, I cannot decide between them. I am going to think about it and get back to you guys, although Batman is hard to resist.
