First Annual John Delaney Swimsuit Competition (Delaney Sketch of the Week #24)

Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

The Intro
Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone!

Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be!

The Low Down:
The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm Eastern the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action!

You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread.

The Rules:
We ask that all users encourage each other to abide by the rules.

Rule #1
Respect others on the boards. It's one thing to disagree with the opinions of others and discuss it. It's another to insult them by verbally bashing the choices of the poll. Do not insult any choices on the poll.

Rule #2
If rule 1 cannot be adhered to, you will be warned. If the situation happens again, banning will occur. There is no strike three.

Rule #3
The moderators reserve the right to suspend the poll for a week (or more) if they deem that the situation warrants.

Rule #4
Campaigning is allowed and encouraged, but in consideration of everyone with slower connections, all images should be thumbnailed. If an image program is not available to assist in that, then they must be linked to. Any post with images larger than 300 pixels in width, will have to be deleted.

Requests:
Keep on sending requests in!!! If there's a character you'd like to see back on the poll again, send requests for that, too. colin@toonzone.net

The Gallery:
Make sure to take a look at the Gallery, which collects all the images done for this poll.

NOTE: To help welcome summer, this week's winner will be drawn in a style of swimsuit of John's Choosing! Hello Summer!!

Got all of that? Great! Let the voting begin on "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

I think I would have rather seen some more swimsuit worthy characters ::cough::Supergirl::cough::, but I guess this poll will be interesting, but I think I'll hold my vote for now.

BTW Colin, did you ever get my idea for a theme poll that I emailed you? That's one thing that I really wanna see.

Dude, that is SO not cool.

Please tell me this is a way-late April fools joke. Hopefully, there will be some real contenders to be put in swimsuits in the near-future.

Hmm..... Yoda in a swimsuit.... that'll be something to treasure! I'm going for it! Why do I have this strange feeling that Yoda in swimsuit is going to rip up the competition?

VOTE YODA IN A FREAKING SWIMSUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

See ya!

It looks like Yoda is gonna win - I voted for him, too. But I just can't wait to see Venom done by Delaney.

It figures they'd put Roger Rabbit and no Jessica! Of course, maybe they could be drawn together... (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

Now I wish I could change my vote!

This is more disturbing then anything else, I'm not really sure who to vote for.

I'll have to get back to you on this one.

Agreed - somehow this poll just seems....wrong. I mean the thought of Yoda in a swinsuit somehow seems funny and very, very messed up. Seeing as how he lives on a swamp is he really gonna have any use for a swimsuit?

A muppet in a swimsuit is just one more thing I can add to a loooong line of stuff that will eventually lead to my imminent breakdown.

Mmmm! Sexy I am! Your thong you must let me see! Yeeeesss....

Har har har!

Way to get our hopes up: "A Swimsuit-themed poll? All right! Boy, I hope Power Girl's a contender!"
:: opens page::

...
"Wha? It's...they're all...um. Heh heh, Yoda in a swimsuit. I see him in Bermuda shorts."

But I HAD to vote for Cosgrove. The thought of this guy in a swimsuit - any kind of swimsuit - displaying his trademark deadpan, it's just too much.

Vote for Cosgrove's deadpan tan!!

I'm not sure I will vote in this either. You know me and my cartoon girls. I just can't do this though. I was expecting to see Ivy, Talia, Supergirl, Babs, and other DC female heroes.

I really wish I could have helped Supergirl win last week.
