This Summer, Cartoon Network revives one of the most popular cartoons from the ‘80s when the
TRANSFORMERS ARMADA Series joins the Toonami line-up with all new adventures. Beginning Friday, August 30, Transformers Armada will air Fridays at 6:30 p.m. (ET, PT). The 52-episode series is scheduled to join the daily Toonami schedule in November.
Introduced almost twenty years ago, Transformers are vehicles that can change into robots and vice versa. The latest series, Transformers Armada, begins on Earth when three children discover a Pandora’s box from the World of Cybertron (the home of the Transformers robots). Unbeknownst to Carlos, Rad and Alexa, they unearth an ancient battle between the Autobot and Decepticon robots when the centuries-old box is opened.
The Autobots and Decepticons battle for control over a third race of Transformers, the Mini-Cons robots. Historically a dormant group, the Mini-Cons robots are now the key to a crucial source of power and when they are connected with other Transformers robots, they have the ability to enhance the strength and power of the larger Transformers.
Toonami, Cartoon Network’s top-rated afternoon action-adventure franchise, airs weekdays 4-7 p.m. (ET, PT) and features animé and action programs like Dragonball, Dragon Ball Z and Batman Beyond. Intermittently throughout the block, Toonami features popular music, computer generated 3-D animation segments and video game reviews. TOM, the animated host of the block, transmits Toonami programming from his space vessel, the Absolution.
