Very nice. I only wish that he'd gone with the S:TAS Superman. Still haven't grown to like the JL:TAS version, but still a very nice shot.

Any chance you could show us the full, uncolored version? I usually prefer the shots in black and white

And John colored it, again! Man is he starting to really spoil us or what?

I wasn't expecting the JL:TAS Supes, but it's a pleasant suprise none the less. Great work as always John.

Great pic. I'd like to see it in black-and-white too.

It's so...patriotic! It's perfect! It's an awesome pic, John, and seeing it in both black and white and color is an added treat. You put so much work into each sketch, it's hard not to love them.

Well...John I have to be honest....I really don't think that anything you could draw now would be better than your stunning Superman Adventures Tribute Image (it was the pinaccle achievement of your time here with us)....but this one's right up there too. Nice usage of the Justice League Superman too. He fits better in this image than the S: TAS Superman would have.

Seriously, though....you just can't beat your Tribute Image. I adore it...I love all your work....but that one's gold. This one's a silver....get it? As in SILVER AGE!!! Am I a dork or what?

Hey Kats
This one was a tough one for me because I had to choose between the STAS version, the JL version or a realistic rendering of my own. In the end I went with the JL version because the tribute drawing I did before was in the STAS style and this being a Toon site I thought an animated drawing would be more appropriate.
By the way, I colored it as a tribute to the American Memorial Day.
This year I think we're all affected by it.
All the best
John

Wow, and this week got a sketch, AND the colored version.

John, it's great! I love the JL animated design for this (I was crossing my fingers itd be Fleischer Studios Style, but this is even better!), and I love the color job.

Great! A real treat!

This is awesome. A big part of why i voted for him was because i hoped you'd use JL's design. GREAT JOB! best of all your pics.

Wow. This is one of my favorites so far. Terrific job, John!

Now, please pardon my ignorance in the matter, but could someone kindly, gently explain the visual difference between Superman from S:TAS and Superman from JL:TAS?

I'm just curious how everyone can identify this as the JL:TAS Supes so easily. Is it just the art style, or is there an actual costume difference that I'm just not picking up on?

Thanks!

Well first off he is more tan and the costume is a slightly darker blue. Second he is more muscular and bulkier. Thats the only difference I so far notice...

Hi 2Divine
The difference in design between STAS and JLS is that Superman in TAS is a smoother less angular design, in JL he has cheekbone lines on his face, a highlight in his hair, his torso and shoulders are wider and there is generally a more angular approach.
