John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #20
Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!
The Intro Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone! Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be! The Low Down: The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm Eastern the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action! You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread. The Rules: We ask that all users encourage each other to abide by the rules. Rule #1 Respect others on the boards. It's one thing to disagree with the opinions of others and discuss it. It's another to insult them by verbally bashing the choices of the poll. Do not insult any choices on the poll. Rule #2 If rule 1 cannot be adhered to, you will be warned. If the situation happens again, banning will occur. There is no strike three. Rule #3 The moderators reserve the right to suspend the poll for a week (or more) if they deem that the situation warrants. Rule #4 Campaigning is allowed and encouraged, but in consideration of everyone with slower connections, all images should be thumbnailed. If an image program is not available to assist in that, then they must be linked to. Any post with images larger than 300 pixels in width, will have to be deleted. Requests: Keep on sending requests in!!! If there's a character you'd like to see back on the poll again, send requests for that, too. colin@toonzone.net The Gallery: Make sure to take a look at the Gallery, which collects all the images done for this poll. Got all of that? Great! Let the voting begin on "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"! (Note: I still haven't recieved the sketch of Talia for week 19, when I get it, you'll get it )

A poll with both the Green Hornet and Kato, AND Black Canary? I'm gonna have to do some serious thinking.

Normally, I'd go with Jango. However, I think that Mr. Delaney is a genius at the lighter fare. So, with that in mind....
VOTE YAKKO, WAKKO, AND DOT!

Howdy all,
After Doom's crushing defeat last week (sob), I only have this to say about this week's poll: When in doubt, vote for the one in the fishnet stockings. Go Black Canary! Sadly, based on my past record, I'm afraid I've doomed Dinah's chances at a sketch... -- Ed/Ace

Give it up for the icon! Vote for the Green Hornet and Kato - the only option that gives you two heroes for the price of one!

As cool as Jango looks, we've been and continue to be bombarded by different pictures/paintings of him. Though the potential of a Delaney drawing of Jango is great, I went with The Green Hornet and Kato. To tell the truth, as soon as I saw Brak on the poll, I selected him, but then I thought "so much has been done with him already." So, I changed my vote. I know at least one person will be happy with my choice!

oh and i am too so are the others who have already bravely cast their vote for an ICON-- a character older than most of the characters that are around TODAY! with his movie in the works, i hope that DC picks up the rights to his comic book so badly |

You shouldn't assume.
I'll probably decided today or tomorrow. We'll see if someone can sway me towards Black Canary first.

Slipknot - I know that you are a big comics fan and I think you should seriously consider voting for a character that has a storied history and has been the basis for many characters that have come after him. While Black Canary is a good choice in her own right the Green Hornet and Kato have been fighting crime for a long time and have yet to get the respect they deserve.
Preserve a legend - vote for Green Hornet and Kato. -Joe!

All this talk about ICONS and historic and influential characters has helped me decide.
I'm voting for Alice. |
