John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #19

Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!

Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone!

Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be!

The Low Down:
The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm Eastern the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action!

The Rules:
We ask that all users encourage each other to abide by the rules.

Rule #1
Respect others on the boards. It's one thing to disagree with the opinions of others and discuss it. It's another to insult them by verbally bashing the choices of the poll. Do not insult any choices on the poll.

Rule #2
If rule 1 cannot be adhered to, you will be warned. If the situation happens again, banning will occur. There is no strike three.

Rule #3
The moderators reserve the right to suspend the poll for a week (or more) if they deem that the situation warrants.

Rule #4
Campaigning is allowed and encouraged, but in consideration of everyone with slower connections, all images should be thumbnailed. If an image program is not available to assist in that, then they must be linked to. Any post with images larger than 300 pixels in width, will have to be deleted.

This one just looks too tough for me. I would like to vote for Pinky and the Brain, but Zim just stole Brain's pose in the last sketch! He-Man would be cool old-school, I've always liked villains like Doomsday, Sephiroth, or Dr. Doom, and Venom is just Venom. I think I may have to think about it for once.

I just got a message that I felt I had to pass on. Here it is, unexpurgated and unedited:

"The choice in this poll is clear. There can be only ONE winner for this poll, and that is Doom. Doom is lord of an entire country, Doom is the greatest scientific mind in the universe, and Doom has cheated death time and time again. Doom has a cool suit of armor and an army of Doombots. Doom managed to get Sue Richards frustrated enough to blow off all her clothing with an invisible force bubble in The Fantastic Four vs. the X-Men. If not for the meddling of that dratted Reed Richards, Doom would have conquered the world by now and squashed all those who would oppose Doom. Doom refers to himself in the third person, which all Truly Cool People do, like professional athletes and the Rock (though Doom would squash them like the insignificant insects they are if they dared to enter his presence).

Venom or Pinky and the Brain? Pinky and the Brain or Venom? Why do I have to be a fan of both choices It's time like this that make you wish you could do more than 1 choice in this poll. I guess I'll wait it out for a while.

Man, there are some hard choices this week! Talia..."have mercy!" (à la Uncle Jesse) Venom...cool, but I preferred him before he had eight inch teeth and an eight foot tongue. Dr. Doom...one of the coolest looking villains ever! Sephiroth...also one of the coolest looking villains ever. Pinky and the Brain...narf! Doomday...got my vote.

I voted Doom! Not for all the things he's done in the comics, not because he's an outstanding supervillain, but for the hilarious treatment he constantly received in Twisted Mego Theater and continues to receive in Twisted Toyfair Theater.

This was not an easy decision for me: between Talia and Pinky & the Brain. I like Pinky & the Brain a lot but I would love to see a sketch of the lovely Talia (she was fabulous on Batman ) Although, if the lab mice do win, I'll be just as happy--they'll always be my faves. Of course, my #1 Animaniacs character will always be Hello Nurse--would love to see her as an MiB agent (this is for you Delia!

I had to vote for Doctor Doom. This guy is classic. Dark, bitter, tyrant, genius, and very occasionally even a force for good.

There's a lot of Star Wars fans around here. If any of you need help with a decision, here's my advice:
