John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #11
Welcome to "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"!
Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly sketch for the fans who frequent Toon Zone! Every week, he will draw a new picture based on the results of the poll. That means that *we* fans choose what the image will be! The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! John will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be animation/comic characters drawn in the Animated style, and if you have any requests for future polls, send me an email with your ideas! Keep an eye out on the Comics Forum for all the latest action! Sound good? You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread. So...let the voting begin on "John Delaney's Sketch of the Week"! P.S. Keep on sending those requests in!!! If there's a character you'd like to see back on the poll again, send requests for that too. harley@toonzone.net Make sure to take a look at the Gallery , which collects all the images done for this poll.

Who knows what fear lurks in the hearts of men...The Shadow knows!
Now this would be a cool pic, although I se eit being a battle between Wonder Woman, Batman Beyond, and everyone's favorite Ninja Turtles. Is TMNT gonna be a group pic?

Man, I really hope The Shadow wins! That would look SO cool in the animated style, that it's not even funny.

I had to pick between
Spike Batman Beyond and Gloop & Gleep I went with Terry I have no idea who Jeremy Duncan is and As much as I love Wile E. Cyote. I'm kind ov unhappy to see something of that nature on this poll. I mean Chuck Jones had a great design for that character, but shouldn't this be for more action type people. Freaaka and SG were okay because even though there funny, their design is action based, sorta, and they are super heroes in some way.

I think John Delaney would do a good job drawing him or the Turtles.

Spike, Turtles or the mysterious Shadow?
I can see the argument for The Shadow, I recieved several radio programs sets as a gift one year, and The Shadow and Suspense! were oft found playing in my first car, peeling around the High School parking lot. He's plenty keen and seeing him brought to life again would be quite tempting, But Alec Balwi soured it so, and perhaps this provides an opportunity for redemption, hmmmm, Who knows....... Spike is also cool, but there's quite a bit of him around, you've got a series that's currently running on AS, and heck fanart alone is as plentiful as.....something very plentiful. While I wouldn't adverse to seeing John's rendition of the cowboy, I don't feel any intense pull as to why he's deserving to win. And then there's the Turtles, probably the leader in my heart at the moment. These guys besides having a nice hunking imprint on my existance since childhood, epitomize action and humor in their original books. Each character unque and appealing, and the common passion that everyone shares, pizza, they really are overlooked by the general public these days. Remember The first movie, the cartoons, even Yosagi Yojimbo got into the act; remember the toys, the games arcade and Nintendo(curse bebop, I jumped, I jumped dammit!), the TMNT excelled at nearly everything and they did it with class. Great stories, great characters. I'm sticking with the turtles right now, but I'll hold off until friday if anyone wants to convince me otherwise. -n

I am just curious...which Shadow are we talking about here? In the event he beats Spike (haha!), is it the classic Shadow we will see rendered or the more modern version of him from Kyle Baker's recent series?
