Since the New Years marathon was just a one-shot deal, CN would most likely had to have inked a new deal with Warner in order to air Looney Tunes daily.

This is superlative news, but I hope Warner was smart enough to lay down a few stipulations (i.e. no dumping the Looney Tunes into ungodly timeslots, a la 2003-2004)

Dude....gross, I agree......but gross . Now that Looney Tunes is returning I should change my signiture and avatar to something else that needs to be brought back to U.S television, but what?

Edit: I found that thanking the network that is bringing it back was more important than wishing for something else.

I'm going to be the voice of the minority, but I'd have rather had some brand new show in this slot. This strikes me as a money saving "safe" move by Cartoon Network to keep the ship from sinking further.

Have to wonder if it'll air on Boomerang as well.

Well in my most humble opinion, the return of Pink Panther, JLU and now Looney Tunes has more to do with the poor performance of CN Real. It almost seems that CN is bringing back the old shows solely because they don't know what else to do to keep ratings from further tanking.

Maybe they're going to take us at our word and see if we really will watch the older shows we've said we wanted back on CN. At least until they can get new show finished or some new acquisitions.

I doubt they're concerned about what we watch, but hopefully the kids will like it.
At least let it stay on around the same time Tom and Jerry's on. Can you believe that's the only cartoon that's been on non-stop since the network started?

Its nice to see younger kids get exposed to classic cartoons from our childhood youth and before we were all born.

Every kid out there deserves to watch the classics, there are some cartoons that should be just required viewing for everyone.

I find it great that they're coming back to CN, my only beef is, I don't think I'll be able to watch it, due to me being at school and work on the weekdays around that time.

You know what I say? Who cares why they brought it back? The point is that it's back, and still quite funny. If there are CN employees lurking around these forums, they might take it back off because of all of this speculation.

If CN employees lurked on TZ and cared about what we had to say, CN would have done this a loooooong time ago.

Believe me I am as excited as the next guy that Looney Tunes is making a comeback to CN but I don't see why they can't create new quality cartoons. Like I said before I want CN to have the forward thinking, longetivity mindset of 1995-2003 where making money and ratings were important but the execs knew in order to accomplish that, quailty had to come first. It's sad that they've recently threw all of that away to chase temporary fads (CN Real),copy their rivals, and live "in the moment" instead of living for the future. CN used to be the unique, alternative network to Nick and Disney. Now that it's tried to be exactly like the two, kids don't find anything special about the network anymore. While bringing back looney tunes and past hits like teen titans, jlu, pink panther, and johnny bravo are good news to some, including me, I see it as a desperate attempt to stop hemorraghing ratings following the disaster of CN Real. They've also been so busy in their hopeless attempt too "out Nick" Nickeldeon that they've ignored Nicktoons and especially Disney XD which are quickly becoming serious rivals themselves.

I think that CN can bounce back from this. I think they have the potienal to make new toons that are just as good if not better than jlu, johnny bravo, powerpuff girls, and other hits. As well as creating new blocks that are just as creative as Toonami and others. The first step to this is a drastic change in leadership.

I doubt CN would have removed Looney Tunes in the first place were it not for all kinds of corporate politics we cartoon fans may never fully understand. They always got good ratings, and in a way helped catapult the channel to the heights it reached several years ago. Some cartoons are just timeless. They don't have to show them every hour like they used to (though that would be fine with me!). But they do need to show them. 4 or 5 YEARS without a regular TV outlet anywhere is just a crime. It'll certainly help CN's ratings and WB's DVD sales. I guarantee it!

It makes me thankful that I grew up in a time when all those old cartoons were still in regular rotation on various networks.

I didn't give a crap that they were 40/50 years old the first time I saw them. Why would today's kids? Sheesh.

When i was about 7, I'd frequently watch shows like The Jetsons and The Flintstones, and such shows were popular amongst kids when I was in Kindergarten. I didn't give a crap that it was old, neither should anyone.

I think that you're intentions are noble, however, you can't and shouldn't try to force "classics" on kids. Making certain shows mandatory wouldn't make kids like them any more; if you make watching these shows something that kids have to do, like going to school or making their bed or rushing their teeth, then it's liable to have the opposite effect on them. You can't make kids like the shows that you grew up with. They're either going to like them or not.

Anyway, while I agree that it'll be good to see Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network again, I wouldn't want for Turner to become too dependent on their old-school library. Nostalgia is good, but I want to see new and original shows on CN also. I wouldn't want for CN to become Boomerang. Also, a part of me is cynical enough to believe that the main (if not only) reason why CN is doing this at all is to quiet down the complaints from the angry fans and also to distract them while they go off and look for more live action programs to air on the network.

But for whatever reason why Turner is doing this, we're getting Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network again. We should just enjoy it while it's here. Welcome back, Looney Tunes.
