Hey everybody!
Just sharing some more work from my feature-length project: Average Joe's Great Escape! In this scene, Joe and Martha visit the new school and attempt to see the principal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NpVmrNMZKM Hopefully, I'll be able to get the whole film out by May of next year. We're already about 15 minutes in. Me and my other animator Mark are the only ones doing the animation now but we're moving fast. Just in case you're curious about who did what: -I animated the soldier who has trouble sounding sarcastic. -Mark did the other soldier. -I animated Joe (the guy in the blue). -Mark did Martha (the ugly chick). -I animated most of the secretary. Mark animated one shot ("I'm guessing you don't have an appointment?"). We try to divide up by character (ie "the Disney way") so they're consistent throughout the whole film and, at the same time, we try to keep the animation about 50/50 so once in a while we'll touch each other's characters. It's a good method imo.

Ok, I'll be honest with you. Your writing is awesome, but your animation looks like a videogame cutscene. The camera is always in the same position, and it gets boring. I wouldn't have the patience to watch a feature film animated like that. I mean, the animation is fine, but just change camera angles a bit. I'm assuming you're using AnimeStudio. I mad this in AnimeStudio (well, not the backgrounds, but everything else), take a look. I acctually changed angles. Unfortunetly, good writing can't save an animated show when it looks boring. Animation is a visual medium. Sorry to be so harsh. I really thought it was funny. I'm just trying to help.

I mean, look at shows like Family Guy or the flat cartoons in Cartoon Network or any of the shows on Adult Swim... boring as hell to look at but people still watch them. All of the characters in those shows are usually in the 3/4 view and the characters barely ever change angles. They usually just stand around talking with simple cuts. It's called limited animation for a reason. Hell, Aqua Teen Hunger Force had a feature film made in the exact same style as the TV show and people still watched it.
