I think that this might be a case of "We don't really want the show, but we don't want another rival network to get this show in case it turns out to be a huge hit".

I just caught an ad for the show while watching the Naruto movie on the CN west coast feed. They advertised the hour long premiere as being part of next Saturday morning's CrushZone.

How so? Marvel Super Hero Squad is just a lighter take on the Marvel franchise. It does no more damage to the Marvel franchise than Teen Titans: TAS or Batman: The Brave and the Bold did to the DC franchise (although I must admit that I would have preferred it if the producers made the Marvel super heroes kids instead of super deformed adults, but that's just me). It's just junk food for the eyes. Sure, Super Hero Squad is silly fluff aimed mostly at younger (I'm guessing elementary school aged) kids, but one series doesn't negate everything else that Marvel has done up to this point. Marvel animation survived that horrible The Thing cartoon series produced by Hanna-Barbera (which truly was an abomination). If Marvel survived that, they can survive anything.

The animation looks good and the action looks intense, but it is aimed towards the kids. It's a good show for kids.Being the first ever animated marvel series that has alot of marvel heroes in it that isn't called the avengers or x-men I was hoping for a more serious themed show.I'm still wondering where Daredevil is or is he not allowed in it.Atleast they have a good version of Iron man in this show.

So according to my cable guide, Thanos is showing up next Sat on Super Hero Squad

I read the guide synopsis and was surprised. I wonder how they will tone his character down. I'm pretty excited to see him.

Unless I missed it at a different time, the "new" episode this morning wasn't Oh, Brother!. It was the Dormammu episode again.

It's strange. It used to have new episodes every Saturday, but now CN just seems to be airing each new episode whenever the hell they feel like it. Maybe they don't care for it much?

CN is airing episodes on weekdays for this week only, ostensibly to promote the show, or perhaps just to burn through the episodes quicker.

That's what I thought. It used to air every Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. Now, it seems CN is airing on weekdays. Weird.

It looks like this week will the only week of premieres; next week's weekday shows are all reruns, with a new episode airing on Saturday.

lol That's good. I have a lot of catching up to do. I didn't realize that SHS was airing on weekdays last week. So I have about 6 new episodes to watch today.

I just watched the opener on CN's On Demand service earlier tonight. I'm distressed to learn that CN is treating this show the same as they do all the others, moving them around the schedule on whims, burning out the episodes too fast, etc., not treating the show or its viewers with any respect at all. Par for the course.

On, then, to the 1st episode. Stan Lee as the Mayor? Ok, I can buy into that. Perfect casting. The rest of the voice cast came and went too quickly in the closing credits to figure out who did who. Sounded like John O'Hurley ("Family Feud", ex-"Seinfeld") as Cap. Falcon sounds like it's Phil LaMarr, but I'm not sure. Silver Surfer sounds like the guy who did Val Hallen (Justice Friends from Dexter's Lab). The characterization of Surfer is all wrong, and the casting is a case of hoping old CN fans will be drawn in, methinks. Was that Frank Welker as Mole Man? I know Charlie Adler's involved. He's the only name on the list I could see.

Funny thing. Falcon says he's 5'11", but the characters all appear to be the same size, save of course for the monsters, and Mole Man growing to larger size. Oh, I know, that's so they can sell the toys, but didn't that already go out with the rainwater?

Film Roman is producing this show w/Marvel Animation. Cool! That puts this miles in front of the other Marvel series on the air. Only quibble is the moveable mouths on Iron Man & Dr. Doom's masks. Not supposed to work that way, y'all.

Giving this a B.

Thank you.

Hmmm. Ray Stevenson fits, as he played Punisher in the last movie. Kevin Sorbo as Ka-Zar? Swank! Come to think of it, Kenny, I think, is using his narrator voice from Powerpuff Girls for Cap. I may just wait for the DVD, if there is one, on this.
