You know peeking through the door while your parents/whoever wrap them, opening then wrapping them back up or shaking the box to try and identify content of the box.

I wait patiently for Christmas.
Really.

Extra question.
Any of you get to open at least one present on Christmas Eve?

My family does that.

I get one present on Christmas Eve, pajamas that I get to wear that night. My mom set the presents out two days ago, she practically killed me when I got home from work and went straight to the tree. "Don't you dare count the presents!" is something like what she said, along with "no peeking!". Heh, I'm 20, and my is is 25, and when she and her husband came over yesterday she and I both got in trouble together for checking out the nametags on the presents. Plus I'm forbidden to go anywhere near my dad's side of my parent's closet because the remaining presents are still stashed in there. And saying that I'm "looking for my cat" doesn't work as an excuse anymore....

I've accidentally stumbled on the presents wrapped in garbage bags in the garage in previous years, but never willingly or knowledgably went searching for my gifts. It takes away from all the fun if there's no mystery or surprise on Christmas morning.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go search for...my cat...yeahhhh...*GOES OFF SEARCHING*

What? I don't have a cat? Aw nuts. Ya caught me. :p

I don't need to sneak peeks cause I already know what I'm getting. :D

When my sister and I were kids, we loved to try and sneak peeks at our presents! It was fun.

Now, though, I don't bother to. My dad shops so close to Christmas Eve that there really isn't any point - I'll be getting the present in a week's time or so, so why try to cheat? And half of the time, he tells me what I'm getting, so there really isn't any surprise.

I never go around looking for my gifts; when I was a kid, though, boy did it drive me crazy!

There is this one Strawberry Shortcake bag with glitter ribbons sticking out on the side that has been mocking me since my sister stuck it under the tree. I just hope I won't end up feeling the gift didn't live up to the "hype" i.e. disappointment

Being gone most of the month means that the presents are all hidden. (Come on new stereo with MP3 playback...)

I know I'm getting Mario Kart Double Dash!! with Bonus Disk and a much-needed keyboard.

Why? I pointed out that Mario Kart was ten dollars off and had the bonus disk, so my mom bought it, let me get the registration code, and wrapped it up. I saw the keyboard sticking out of a bag.

I don't peek cuz I pretty much know what I'm getting. The stuff I like are so obscure/strange names that I usually have to make a list of what I want and like describe it to the letter. Some years if i have time I even get a picture of it on the internet so that it's easy to recognize.

The stuff gets hidden all over the house, sometimes I'm reaching for a hand towel in the closet and I find a bag with something in it. http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/shrug.gif Although this has backfired. My mom told me she got me a Scorpion King DVD last year for christmas, but she forgot where she hid it.. We still haven't found it..

XD

that reminds me of the time we were openning up gifts on christmas night. mom was watching us kids open our gifts and all of a sudden she got a "worried" look on her face. she ran upstairs and said "uh oh, kids. looks like santa forgot one up here" we ran upstairs and sure enough, sitting on the floor by my mom's closet (which locks) was super mario bros. 3 for nintendo. good times *sniff*

Going through the closets in July, we ran into my stocking from the previous Christmas. Through out that candy.

Yeah, when I was little I looked for presents, but this year I haven't really. Ok, ok, I spent a little time looking for presents when I was home alone, but didn't find anything. But it's fine. It's that much more fun as a surprise.

Extra question.

We open all our family gifts on Christmas Eve and our Santa gifts on Christmas Day. My family gets up at different times (though we have breakfast together on Christmas Day), so doing it at night makes it more of a family affair:)

I've peaked at a few of them, but I still don't know the majority of my presents. Just the way I want it.

:p There's no need for me to.

Why? I know what I'm getting.

But it didn't stop me from ALMOST doing it.

 It didn't feel right.

Though, there are some thta I don't know what they are.

They're in boxes, so I can't peek. (They were shipped down here to Georgia from Massachusetts. :) )

When I was younger, I used to pick up all my presents that were under the tree and hold them up to a really bright light. That's how I found out what each of them were. But as the years went on, my mom found out what I was doing and now she never brings up the presents until Christmas Day. She always leaves them in the basement, and I can't get in because she locks the door and keeps the only key with her at all times. :( Oh well, maybe it's better to be surprised anyway.

As always, I made a list of what I wanted this year. I usually get most of the items on my list, so I can, in a way, say I knew what some would be. Most of the other Hanukkah presents are "fillers" (random items that I do not care about), so those surprise me. Technically, I peeked by seeing if they ordered two things from the internet. They could not have arrived that quickly, so I was cheating in another way. I never actually try to find or look at anything before it is given.

I found out a few years ago that it's amazing what I could do with tape, sissors and a day alone with your wrapped presents, before then I just went hunting before they got wrapped. Totally spoiled any surprises but I got really good at faking surprised looks. These days of course I'm all grown up and never do that. Honest. http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/evil3.gif

Of course.
I always used to before my mom caught on. She can see the slightest details like if the wrinkles in the bag look different. Usually I'd make my way through all the security [|\|inj4 5|(i11z] and gaze upon them. If they had already been wrapped things were a bit trickier. First I needed excuses to get everyone out of the house (except for my dad who was probably sleeping anyway). Then I used what ever I could find to slip off the tape without cutting it. The rest was easy just slide the goods (gift) out of their wrapping, awe at it, then slide it right back in and reapplying the tape. On Christmas.... Well, I have a talent for simulating emotions.

Of course now-a-days my mom hides them at relatives or friends houses. I still work my magic whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Generally, I don't. There have been exceptions, but none I can recall specifically. Though I am often rather typically a cynic, what I really want to be is a romantic, and this is a perfect time of year to indulge in that.

We used to open at least one present on Christmas Eve, but both my younger sister and I are old enough now to wait and open 'em all on Christmas morning.

....... ;)

Naah, I don't really peek. I'd rather be surprised. Plus I'm horrible at lying, I couldn't fake surprise if I tried.
