WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The son of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore has been charged with possession of marijuana after being stopped by police while driving a car in a Maryland suburb of Washington.
Montgomery County police said Albert Gore III, 21, was arrested Friday night along with two passengers after police officers observed a Cadillac being driven without its headlights on. As officers approached the car they observed the sun roof was open despite freezing temperatures, county police said.

The officers searched the car and found what appeared to be a partial marijuana cigarette and a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana, police said. Gore and the two passengers were arrested and charged with one count of marijuana possession, a misdemeanor, police said.

A family spokeswoman said the family is in the habit of not commenting publicly on the private lives of their children.

By disobeying a simple law by keeping the headlights off, they were asking to be caught. If they did not have the sun roof open, the smell would have been the giveaway. Just imagine all of the publicity this would get if his father became president.

You know, if it were a NORMAL person, would you be postng this? No. So he got caught for possession? So he's the former vice president's son? He's still a person, and who his family and relations are should have no value to his crime or people's opinions of him. Of course, this being modern America, they do.

Former Vice President's son is a stoner?

I'm torn between apathy and my dislike of pot.

Apathy wins this time.

If it (marijuana) was legal, these and all similar problems could be avoided. LEGALIZE! :D
