This week saw a survey (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/favouritefood/) over here in the UK to find the nation's favourite Christmas food, results as follows:

1. roast turkey
2. Christmas pudding
3. trifle
4. mince pies
5. roast chicken
6. baked glazed ham
7. Christmas cake
8. smoked salmon
9. turkey sandwich
10. roast goose
11. nut roast

So the question is whether its Christmas, Chanukah, Yule, in fact whichever holiday you celebrate, what's your favourite holiday nosh?

Do you and the family always have a 'traditional' meal on the big day or do you simply grab what you like and pick at this and that (or would if you had the opportunity to?)

Spill the jelly beans guys :D

I've always liked Turkey, with a pumpkin pie on the side.

+Pardon me if I sound rude, but isn't that dish a Thanksigving one and not a Christmas one?+

Well, true, but I also like it for Christmas as well.

+Okay. I hope you make extra pie this year Diana. I would enjoy a slice of your delicious pumpkin flavored dessert+

Sure, I'll save you one.

+Oh, thank you so much!+

Yeah, no problem. Anyway, back on topic, everyone else answer the question!

I was wondering how the turkey thing works out actually, since we Brits don't have Thanksgiving (duh) we're pretty much 'up for it' as dinner but seeing as Thanksgiving's only a month from Christmas what do most Americans do? Are you all turkey'd out or is there always room for more?

Oh and shrimp.:p Christmas Day we have turkey and all that good stuff. Yummy:p

I know I get turkeyed out, so I usually prefer a honey glazed ham or a standing rib roast for Christmas. This year's gonna be the rib roast.

In Canada, Thanksgiving is in early October, so we aren't "turkeyed-out" by Christmas.

My favourite Christmas foods are turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie (especially with a bit of vanilla ice cream).
