I wanted to but had no clue how to do so. But you kicked it off better, plain an simple.
HAPPY HANUKKAH!!!
Is there a "C" in the beginning? I've seen it spelt with and without one.

Happy Hanukah to all our Jewish TZ members!
Dang you and your eight crazy nights of presents...*SCOWLS IN JEALOUSY* :)
Seriously though, have a good one. What dictates the official first day of Hanukah each year, anyway? Is it one of those "third Friday of the month" things, a lunar thing, or does it always start on Dec. 19th and I just never noticed?

Even though I don't celebrate it, I say a happy Hanukkah to everyone who does celebrate it.
Here's hoping that everyone who is celebrating Hannukah (or however you spell it) has a wonderful time with their family & friends over the next few days. Be good to yourselves :)

The best part about Hannukkah is that you can buy for your whole family with only $20.....that reminds me I have some shopping to do.
I wonder if that shady dollar store is still open.

Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate it.
The problem with sunset is that a few miles to the east or west, the holiday started at a different time. "1737ESTPAHV" Make what you can of the text between the quotation marks. :p
It falls on the same day; or rather, night; every year on the Jewish calendar. It isn't our fault that the world decided to make the Roman calendar the standard.
People always complain about how a given day of a given month on the Hebrew calendar does not start the same amount of time between a solstice and an equinox. In reality, the Christian calendar, as I call the standard, has its faults, too. Why are there twelve months, and not thirteen? 28X13=364. Twelve months with exactly four weeks and an extra day (occasionally two) on the thirteenth month would be less confusing. Then again, a perfect calendar could not be realistically created because a "year" does not have an exact number of days.
I'm a bit late in replying - I believe tonight will be the third night - but Happy Hanukkah to anyone who is celebrating. :)
And just for the fun of it, here's a virtual dreidel game (http://www.jewfaq.org/dreidel)!
