How did you get your user name? What is the meaning? What is the reasoning behind it?
Alex Toon
12-15-2003, 06:25 PM
Simple as 1-2-3. I'm named Alex and I like toons. Now that wasn't so hard, now was it?

I think there was already a thread on this, but I'll repeat mine for the ignorant and the newbies:
It's A Combination of my name (Diana Son) and my favorite character on DBZ, Gohan. Simple as that.
Corrado
12-15-2003, 06:37 PM
I already answered mine twice, here and in Cafe Toon Zone.
Corrado is the real first name of my favorite Sopranos character, Uncle Junior.
Speedy Boris
12-15-2003, 06:56 PM
-Speedy: Nickname I got in tee-ball when I would zoom around the bases.
-Boris: A fake name one of my friends made up. (My real first name is Ian)
SlyBoy
12-15-2003, 07:03 PM
Mine's a combo of my old names (ApolloBoy and Sly Cooper).
The Falcon
12-15-2003, 07:17 PM
when i was "idislikepandas" it was because i hated the world wildlife federation for sueing the true wwf
when i was "KingOfDarkness", i chose that name because of my favorite all time villain, ganondorf, of "the legend of zelda" fame
and now i am the "Blue Falcon" mostly in part to i just saw the episode of harvey birdman: attorney at law called the dog father, or something like that, and i thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. i also chose it because of falco from star fox
Falcon
Tallaid
12-15-2003, 07:18 PM
I'm honestly not sure where mine came from. I think one day I thought to myself, "I need a name I can use everywhere on the internet...one that will preferebly cause a civil war over its pronunciation once I become ruler of the world" So I kinda stuck some letters together, I think a cool character in a book I had been reading at the time may have influenced it some, and I had "Tallaid". The major bonus was the fact that not another soul uses this name on the internet, so at least i'm unique.
sandwichman
12-15-2003, 07:26 PM
On Battlenet, I was aBuTtErSaNdWiCh. I abandoned that name after a while, and just changed the forms into similar things, but now I've stuck with sandwichman. I think that it reflects how I live out the way of the sandwich every day.
Spike04
12-15-2003, 07:33 PM
mine originally came from spike spiegel and the 04 just because spike was already in use i guess, but its my nickname in the videogames i play so it kind of caught on, plus it rythmes with mike..
Pilmedium

I did not answer this ever before, probably because doing so makes me sound like an idiot. I am really just weird. Anyway, the first three letters come from the word "pillow." I always considered some adults with a lot of abdominal fat "high-tech pillows," or "pilhighs," by replacing the word low with high. After I extended that thought to all people, I realized that children should not be considered so much as "high-tech," because they generally have less knowledge and fewer abilities. So, I combined the original "pil" with a compromised version of "low" and "high" to form "pilmedium." :o

Well, my user name says it all: I am a babe who love anime. :anime:
Proto DUDE
12-15-2003, 07:53 PM
Simple: Look at my avatar. Also, a man is a dude.
Magwheel
12-15-2003, 09:01 PM
I'm not sure how I originally came up with it, but it breaks down to a shortened form of my first name, and an asinine a clever reference to magnesium wheels, such as those on some cars. I guess becuase I like cars.
I kinda dislike it, but becuase I have no real nickname, and name changes confuse me, it stays. I might change it to "Margaret G" some day, but I'll hope and try for something better :p
Oh, and Pilmedium, I liked your explanation, and your use of the word "tech," but I think I just outdid you as far as weird obscurity is concerbed ;)

I chose mine cause it's my real name. I like my name.

How did you get your user name? What is the meaning? What is the reasoning behind it?
I think mine is rather obvious...at least to Looney Tunes fans. :)
Well, actually, first I was Babs Bunny from Tiny Toons. This was because (if you have read the history behind the WBC) I was a big fan of TTA before...well, still am...and the name carried over from the old WBC on Prodigy.
When I joined a little thing called IRC about 6 1/2 years ago, Babs was already taken by someone else. I knew I liked cat characters, too, so Keeper and I went through some names and that eventually led to Penelope. (My first choice was Rita from Animaniacs, but that was taken, too.)
Since I was starting to be her more often than Babs, I decided to change my username to Penelope Pussycat...well, PennyCat for short...on here. I'm still Babs in spirit, though. In fact, I have her as my main username on AOL. :)
So, there you go...and for those of you who aren't real big Looney Tunes fans...she's the cat that Pepe Le Pew chases. :) (Or in my case...Keeper. Hehehe.)
purplehairedwonder
12-15-2003, 10:56 PM
Mine? Points to sig:p This was from my phase when I was obsessed with DBZ, and I saw Future Trunks, and I thought he was cool. I looked up some webpages on him and one of them called him the purple-haired wonder, so hence the name. I don't have purple hair, Trunks does:p
RogueMartian
12-16-2003, 01:50 AM
I made mine up, has a lot of references I thought were cool. Rogue: from x-men, Martian: Marvin from Loony Toons, RogueMartian: I'm totally on the wrong planet. Clever, huh?

Good Ol' Batmanuel!
12-16-2003, 02:06 PM
My current username is actually the second one I've had. I actually made a thread (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=47873) once regarding people not liking their usernames anymore.
Anyway, my original username was "I Hate Batmanuel!" I chose that as a knee-jerk reaction to my dislike of the revamped version of Die Fledermaus on the live-action show The Tick. However, after only nine episodes, the show was cancelled and I had actually started to like the character of Batmanuel! This caused me not to like my hastily-chosen username and so, long story short, I got Calhoun07 to change my username to the current one (mission accomplished: October 3, 2002). Thanks again, buddy! :D

My current username is actually the second one I've had. Of all the people who have posted in this thread so far, only Pilmedium and PennyCat would have seen the original.
Anyway, my original username was "I Hate Batmanuel!" [...]
Actually, I saw your original name, but before I registered, and long before I started posting. So maybe that doesn't count.
"I Hate Good Ol' Batmamuel" would be a good name, I think ;). Actually, 15 characters (I think that's the new limit) would end it at "I Hate Good Ol'". Good enough for me! Then there's "Irate Batmanuel!" Or not.
I'm thinking of using "A Rushin' Mig," maybe, some day. Kinda clever, but I think I can do better. (As for what's in that name... another play on my first name, plus a refernce to rushing, and to Migs - Russian Migs. harrrrrrr.....http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/smile.gif).
Sailor Chibi Otaku
12-16-2003, 09:32 PM
Sailor Chibi Otaku: Sailor is from one of my favourite anime/manga series of all-time, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon; chibi I took from Sailor Chibi Moon (Sailor Venus/V is my all-time favourite senshi, so she inspired most of my name); otaku, I'm a fanatic of many things. :)

My AIM name was first Knuckles5. That just slowly mutated to Knux Five.
So, if you ever see that name or a variation, it's me. Unless it's at a pr0n site. :)
My favorite Cartoon Cartoon is "Ed, Edd n Eddy." 'Nuff said.
Zero Signal
12-16-2003, 11:22 PM
My username is borrowed from one of my favorite bands Fear Factory. The song Zero Signal is one of their best, and I've liked it ever since I heard it in the movie Mortal Kombat. I kind of use the Fear Factory theme by using a different song as a username at every board I post at (Scumgrief, Self Bias Resistor, Securitron, etc.).
Samurai Karasu
12-17-2003, 01:09 AM
Well I saw Karasu and he reminded me of the ancient models of samurais back in the olden days of Japan so I thought. I AM SAMURAI KARASU THIS DAY!
And that...is why Donald Duck should never have covered his crotch when the wind blew his shirt off.

BabySealClubber
12-18-2003, 02:49 AM
Back in the 80s there was a daily comic strip called Bloom County. In one strip Bill the Cat, a half-dead feline noted for "acking" up hairballs, was running for politcal office. During the course of the storyline the media (as they tend to do) began digging into or making up bad things about Bill's past. In the final box of one particular strip Opus (the penguin) was reading what had been reported in an article and exclaimed with surprise "Bill used to club baby seals?!" I guess it was so funny and so obviously henious that it stuck with me all these years.
Also it is a varient on my XB tag "SealClubber". If you've ever played games online you know that gamers often choose tags that are meant to evoke fear into other players. This was a tongue-in-cheek answer to that requisite.
Karl Olson
12-18-2003, 03:21 AM
My name is Karl Olson (well, the full name is Karl Ross Olson.) I tryed the internet nick thing before (I went by The Stereo Logic, as that was the name of my main music project at the time, but to avoid litigation, but I dropped that name in favor of Ultraklystron, and I decided should this issue ever come up again, I'll just go by own name on bullitin boards, websites (http://www.karlrolson.com) and other such stuff.)

This thread has nothing to do with middle names. It's about our member names.

The History of My Name
I first wrote a short story about a comic book creation who haunts his creator. And came up with the name Blue Wolf
I then started using the name at a number of forums, then it became my internet name, then sort of my alter ego. And then I came to toonzone
DarkPoet89

I enjoy writing dark poetry and the number 89 just seemed to flow well.

I took my name from one of the main characters of a video game called Suikoden II.

StarScream64
12-19-2003, 12:53 AM
I know I've done this more than once, but there are some newbies out there so...
StarScream sounded cool, but I figured that that name would be taken, this being a toon forum and all. I was on a StarFox 64 kick at the time, so I combined the two, and viola! StarScream64 was born!
Certainly beats my old name that I used on other online communities, which was simply "Donkey Kong." http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/sweat.gif (guess what video game kick I was on then?)
I guess both names are rather misleading, considering I'm a girl. Maybe I'll change mine.
NOT!!!
Mekaneck + Kairi = Mekairinek
Katrover
12-19-2003, 01:43 AM
Here's a condensed version of what I posted in the other thread:
It's a combination of my two favorite cartoons (SWAT Kats & Road Rovers) from when I was in middle school. I liked SWAT Kats just a teensy more, so it came first.
BTW, my full username is "Katrover Swatroad."
WingZombie38
12-19-2003, 11:19 PM
Wing= I love Gundam Wing no matter what haters say
Zombie= I feel like as zombie due to lack of sleep
38= Outlander went to Pratt so 38 should at least sound familiar to him...
KinG = Big Ego
PaQ = Took it from the slang of the term block for basketball.
Basketball happens to be one of my favorite things to do. Became KinG of PaQ, pretty much known for my defensive intensity on the Basketball court. :D
Good Ol' Batmanuel!

PaQ = Took it from the slang of the term block for basketball.
I've been watching for 14 years and that's a new one to me! :p Is it a regional thing?
I don't think I've ever heard it on anything televised.
It's more something you hear at the local courts. When you get blocked usually the cocky guy will say" I just packed you!" Stuff like that. I'm sure that phrase has been used in other places, never really thought about that. I just changed the spelling cuz my favorite letters are Q and X. And no way was I gonna name my self after the PaX channel. :p

Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense to me. Now I'll just wait for the day when I hear Marv say it! He's down, right? Heh heh. :p
And no way was I gonna name my self after the PaX channel
Haha, cool. I also thought of the wrestler X-Pac when reading this. What's worse, X-Pac or Pax channel? ;)

I thought of mine when I found a Buffy posting board a year or two ago, for any non-Buffy fans out there, (I'm willing to concede there might be), there was a band in the show called Dingos Ate My Baby and I'm a fan of Night Of The Living dead, hence the zombie bit. It was either that or use 'Faith No More', which I kinda like too.

"You know, as technically diffrent people then Diana, we should do one of these as well Susan."
+That sounds fair. Want to go first Samanatha?+
"Sure. Well, my full name is SamanathaInsanity Well you see, Samanatha is the name that I was given by Diana, or rather one that I picked out and she agreed on. Insanity comes from the part I make up the more hostile and agressive part and help calm down Diana's own insanity problems. It dosen't mean I'm actually insane. Diana gave me that nickname and I kept it. I think it works."
+My full name is SusanNormalcy. I thought Susan was a very beatuiful name and Diana was very generous to let me choose it. Normalcy is my sort of job around here. To try and break up the tension from my other two sisters and keep things as normal as possible, because too much chaos would not be good.+
"Well that's it. Go home now kids."
+If you aren't already there in you're nicely furnished homes already. And if you feel they aren't, I pray for your wishes to have your house as nice as you want it to be+
Dudley
12-21-2003, 02:33 AM
Dudley is my last name.
When I signed up for this forum, I didn't want to use "caughtinadream" as a user name - I use it for my e-mail address and AOL screen name, but it didn't seem like much of a name to me.
I found "Avran" when I read Andrew M. Greeley's novel, Lord of the Dance. There is a poem or blessing that appears at the end of the book, and Avran was the title of it. I have no idea what the word means, and I've had to luck searching online, but I did like the sound of it and decided to adopt it as my nickname for this message board.

czyznyck99 is in no way, shape, or form, related to my real name. So to those who address me like it is, just stop. I look at you weird whenever I see it. I stole the name from someone who randomly said it, and I thought it sounded funny enough to use.
Later.
