Assuming it's on-topic here (having aired on CN as part of its Christmas specials celebration):
Anyone seen this one rerun last night? Plot: Mr. Spacely engages in the old Scrooge story (visited by three spirits), as Astro is deathly ill.
Thought this one was, well, pretty lame... probably due to my dislike of Mr. Spacely; if they *really* wanted to give George a "nice Christmas", they'd show him quitting working for such a miserable little wretch and find a better job... ;-)
Other annoyances:
- the supposed flashback to Spacely's childhood. "Georgie" Jetson?!? And George and Spacely knew each other since they were kids (in some "Flintstone Kids" sort of thing)?! Ack...
- an appearance by Orbitty. Woohoo...
Other observations:
- Spacely's flashbacks might well be just a dream---since we see the Flintstones playing on a screen at the drive-in movie; not likely given "The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones" showing them living in the same world (though an original 60's episode of the "Jetsons" does show Elroy watching "The Flintstones")...
- George mentions in Spacely's "future" his wife "having left him". Wondering if they wouldn't have gotten away with a reference to divorce if it had run on ABC/CBS/NBC in the 80's (when this was made), instead of being a part of syndication...
- "Jacob Mars-ley" and "rocket roll". That's the only cheesy "space" puns we get?! Aww... :-)
Stuff already invented in real life Department:
- digital thermometers. Granted, ours don't beep loudly at such high temperatures, but still...
-B.
