Hello everybody,

OK, we just want everybody to know that, as long as it's PG rated, you guys and girls can post ANYTHING you like here - it doesn't have to be limited to Batman, etc. SOOOO, to get the ball rolling, here are some character designs I did a while back for a Victoriana/Steampunk comic that, sadly, never came out...

Any thoughts? My favourites either the metal angel (an angel of a metal diety named 'Urizen'), or the viscious looking girl ("Decade")... Man, I had a real blast drawing these..!

The second-highest praise I can ever give to designs like this is: They make me want to read the stories that feature them.

The highest praise I ever can give is: They are so intense and evocative make me want to WRITE a story featuring them; they already feel alive and ready to rumble.

These meet and exceed that highest standard.

Said it once, said it again.....you are amazing! You're incredible at art, no wonder you're a professional! :) My people always have heads too big, and they're too round to be realistic....but your people are awesome, and stylized, and the designs are so cool!

Oooh, I like! Very, very nice. I just learned of steampunk two weeks ago when I got the game Arcanum, and these drawings clinch it... I want to read more. Can anyone reccomend any good steampunk novels?

And I'm having to restrain myself from asking you again what your company has you doing. :)

These are JUST designs?! Because I don't think words will describe how wonderful-looking the finished pic will be-these are incredibly realistic and well-planned!
...pro, eh? No wonder, with these drawings. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, everybody - especially Maxie! That really is the most evocative and inspirational praise I have ever been honoured enough to receive - my most sincere thanks...

And Nightflower, don't knock your stuff - it really is lovely. When you're an 'oldster' like me, you are going to be SOOO much better than I am - I can tell by looking back to the stuff I did when I was 17, and the stuff you're doing now. Your stuff is leagues ahead of the piccys I did when I was your age...

Hatter - have you tried "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" by Alan Moore. It's a mini-series by Moore's ABC lines of comics - see if you can track down the TPB anywhere - it's good!!! As for wehat I'm working on now, well, the games meant to be out in April, so we should be going public fairly soon - and you guys here at the Drawing Board will see it all first!!!

Thanks again, everybody. You make work like this mean something, and that's priceless...

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen! I've been wanting to try that for ages, mostly since I'm a fan of Victorian-era sci-fi. Thanks for letting me know there's a trade paperback of it... believe it or not, I live in a small town that's mostly sans comics, so I'm often out of the loop, and the things I hear about that strike my fancy I have to take a trip to Little Rock for. Which reminds me, I'll have to do that soon for Joker: Last Laugh.

Oh, the game hasn't even been announced yet? Cool, stealth project! Thanks for the promise to give us a peek on unveiling day, I'll be waiting (semi)patiently till then.

I shouldn't get too impatient - it's not really that exciting a project! It's a PS2 sequel to a series of PS1 titles, and not a fantastic series of PS1 titles at that! Still at least the characters look quite cool!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I could say is that you could draw better than me. :)

And I'm still a beginner ;)

Damned fine work there. I'm a fan of the metal angel meself. Good costume design on all. Neat. I agree with Maxie, I'd give a shot to anything that featured these characters based on design alone.

I think I like the girl and the metal angel the most. Very expressive, as well as beautifully designed.

'Sfunny how everybody picks up on the angel - everytime I take these pieces to portfolio sessions and such like, even the pros like the metal angel! Maybe I should just give her her own comic!!!
