I just checked out the article on WB's fall line up and failed to notice a mention of Oblongs, positive or negative. Has it been cancelled? I really did enjoy this show, tho I hated it that they put it up against X Files. But I managed to tape it while watching the X Files, so I didn't have to miss it.
I had heard a rumor a year or two ago that WB was going to develop an animated block for Sunday night, around the time Mission Hill and Baby Blues was in the works. Obviously, that never transpired, and it looks like it never will. What a bummer.

The Oblongs is gone. It got good ratings, too, but maybe not good enough. I thought the show was okay. There were some laugh out loud moments and some giggles here and there. WB has announced it's cancellation in some archived article at www.zap2it.com. On the plus side, rumor has it that MISSION HILL is coming to Teletoon. I think if the The OBlongs had another season, is might've been cemented at WB for a few more years. Heck, it got alot of good reviews! I've yet to see an ep of BABY BLUES, but I look forward to it!

Ah yes, the show with the limbless father and other assorted freaks of society. I'm sure the WB thought it was a winning, all-demographic grabbing formula.

That sounds rather cynical (I assume it is, sometimes it's hard to read what tone of voice a person is trying to use on the computer tho). I doubt WB thought that about the show, but I give them credit for giving the show a chance at least. It was original and a lot more funny than some of the other animated series that have come and gone in equally or less amont of time.

p.s. Clerks and Mission Hill excluded, of course! Those are my two favorite animated series that never got a chance to really grow.
