Ok, If someone has already done this thread before I apologize.

Their are the idiots we know and love. They make us laugh, cry, and slam our heads into walls because of their idiocy. Fry from Futurama, Peter Griffin from Family Guy, and Homer J. Simpson from The Simpsons...

Granted that the last show dosen't air on CN, I still thought it be too unfair not to add dear Homer. So the question is....who is stupider???

My vote goes to Peter. Yes, Fry and Homer have done some stupid stuff, but in the end most of the time they learn their lesson. This has also helped them evolve into more mature characters through each season.

PETER however, hasn't changed, dosen't change, and won't change...simply because in my opinion he is just plain ignorant. He seems to be really selfish and self-centered most of the time. He also has the whole hating feminism thing. OH, and don't forget the constant running of his mouth, even when he dosen't even know what he says most of the time...

I forgot the episode when this was proven but I do remember most of the text. Peter said something and Brian replied "Do you ever realize what comes out of your mouth?" Peter: "Eh, I drift in and out."...
Granted that most of the things Peter does are hilarious but, he's seriously not Albert Einstein.

Thus the end of my rant. Your turn. :D

I'd also vote for Peter. Homer is dumb too, but lately he's been more of an ass than an idiot. Fry seems to only be dumb when it's funny, otherwise he's averagely intelligent.

Fry and Homer do have some crazy antics, but its not much of a competition when you compare them to someone like Peter.

Oh, and I voted Peter(if there was a poll) of course.

Er... I'd definetly go with Peter...

Heck, Homer wouldn't even be dumb if He didn't have that crayon in his brain :D

Definitely Peter. He was dumb throughout the series...but he was dumb in a funny way. The last I checked
he didn't successfully go through toilet training until he was an adult, and he got the right to have passed the fourth grade right before he went hunting with Chris :D (in his best Peter impersonation) heheheheheheh!

Fry is bright, but when he acts dumb (also in a funny way), it's because he isn't as used to the future as all of the other people. Sometimes you have to learn, right?

Homer is dumb too, but not as dumb as Peter. Although recently the people behind the show have been trying to make him dumber in a failing attempt to improve the show. He used to be funny-dumb, but now he's ignorant-dumb.
Apparently the effects of that military test he got that forced his hair to fall out (and give him occassional giggling spells) get even worse as time progresses.

Poll added. =)

Peter is the stupidest. He was written that way. Just plain stupid.

Fry isn't all that bright, but he has his moments of intelligence.

I think the homer of the latest Simpson seasons is the dumbest, but I don't consider him Homer. The Homer of seasons 1-8 was at times actually quite smart, as well.

So, easily Peter.

According to the DVD Commentary of "He's Too Sexy For His Fat" The Creators purpeosly made him really not learn anything throughout the series because it wouldn't be as fun to have a smarter Peter or something to that extent. I think that if Family Guy kept going on, Peter would have been gradually getting smarter and maybe a bit more observant (I actually think he was a bit smarter in Season 3 then in Seasons 1 and 2, or at least less of a jerkass anyway) but still would be an idiot. Fry is pretty stupid at times sure, but he has a reason. It was because the collection of brain parts combined with the layer of mind sheilding he got from doing the "nasty in the pasty" with his Grandmother in "Rosewell That Ends Well" makes him immue to Brain probing but at the same time less intellegent then you're average person. However, it has been shown that if he focuses at something, Fry can be pretty dang smart in a certain area. And Homer, well... he just gets dumber every season. No if and or buts about it. So who would I say? Either recent Homer or Peter.

Well I hate Family Guy, but I didn't choose Peter. In fact, I chose Homer. A lot of this is because of a recent article I read on MSNBC about the Simpsons and the changes in the show over the course of its lifetime. If you can find it, I urge you to read it, very interesting.

Anyhow, I think Futurama's Fry is the smartest of the 3 because even when he's being dumb he still has the occasional nugget of wisdom come out of his mouth. Plus I find Futurama the funniest of the shows. Then comes Griffin because he's not too smart, but his main problem is that he just doesn't think. If he thought about it, he'd be able to make better choices. Homer on the other hand, seems mean and dumb, he is incapabale of making the better the choices.

I'd say Fry is the most intelligent in any given episode. He has his moments where he can really shine.

Homer would be second. Crayons and military aside, Homer used to be more intelligent. He has progressively gotten dumber as the show continues.

Peter is ridiculously dumb. Almost to the point where it gets on my nerves. He is given random intelligent quotes, but aside from that, he lives to be an idiot.
So Peter Griffin: You got my vote.

Heck, Homer wouldn't even be dumb if e didn't have that crayon in his brain

Yes, he would. The Simpson gene is what makes Homer stupid.

Homer and Fry have excuses. (Even if Homer's two contradict) Peter has no excuse.

Peter is the dumbest. Fry is the smartest. Ihaven't watched the Simpsons in a long time so Ican't comment on Homer's current level.

I'm gonna go with Homer on this one, because while Peter is dumb, he's got some mad wicked humor that often functions many levels higher than say Homer's dancing around in a tutu.

Fry, who is by far my favorite, isn't very close to theses guys, so I'm definite about Homer and Peter being tops. But I think Peter's often extensive knowledge about Pop Culture and Politics would put him ahead. I think of it this way, If Homer and Peter were taking the SATs, I really think Peter would get a higher score just because he's atleast likely to spell his own name correctly. (not that the SATs are the end all stoopid earmark)

Homer ocassionally does something intelligent. Peter's not stupid, he's an a-hole. So, Fry.

Wrong! Homer Simpson has you all fooled! He's actually an intellectual titan, a paragon of his species, but as a member of the Fluxes movement, as a fashion statement, acts like a cartoonishly bumbling idiot.

Adil: How can you defend a country where five percent of the people
control ninety-five percent of the wealth?
Lisa: I'm defending a country where people can think and act
and worship any way they want.
Adil: Cannot!
Lisa: Can too!
Adil: Cannot!
Lisa: Can too!
Homer: Please, please, kids, stop fighting.
Maybe Lisa's right about America being the land of opportunity,
and maybe Adil's got a point about the machinery of capitalism
being oiled with the blood of the workers.
``The Crepes of Wrath''

So not only is Homer Simpson a Marxist, but obviously he has a verbose vocabulary on him.

Neil: Wake up, Homer! Those bars are just junk! They're made of apple cores
and Chinese newspapers!
Homer: (reading a Powersauce bar) Hey, Deng Xiaoping died!
"King of the Hill"

Well, that's interesting. Homer Simpson could read on the Chinese newspaper that "Deng Xiaoping" died. How could he possibly know that unless he can read Manderan Chinese? So either Homer Simpson's a Marxist espionage agent from Red China, or more likely he's an outsider artist [as mentioned in a later episode] who's making a gigantic fashion statement by acting like a buffoon, when in reality he's a subversive genius. We all know he has an affinity for Thomas Edison.

Fry on the other hand, is underestimated. He's pretty much a total retard. His genetic stock is severely inbred via chrononautical incest resulting in him being his own ascendant. He's not as much of a vacuous meathead as Peter Griffon. Peter Griffon is almost uncomfortable to watch. The title goes to him.

But I think the most idiotic is the person who decided this was a good topic idea.

Id have to say Homer is the dumbest....Peter and Homer have learned from some of their mistakes;

Peter's out of body experience with Adam Corrola ,i mean Death, where he realizes the importance of his wife...."Lois may be worth a million dollars to You Mr P, but to me, she's worthless" Very similar to Homer's exp in that area as well; "Take that Space Coyote", "If it's about laying off the Insanity Peppers ,I'm way ahead of ya......NOT!!!!!!!"

Sooooooooo, things are basically even except Homer's been at it for 15 years now............ ;)

Fry, hes more lazy than stupid, more obstinate in his apathy, except where Lela's concerned...........Hmmmm new thread perhaps???????????
