McGurik: UNDERWEAR!!!! *gives Lynch a huge wedgie*

That was good. Not a standout, but will be a good holdout until January ( ;_; ). Best parts included them talking while playing a game, "www" discussion, Brendon's review style, Brendon's Irish accent, the Elk sequence, and the Elk ending. Even got some good Paula scenes ("If I do something wrong, you will rub my head...OW OW OW OW").
Only thing I didn't enjoy was Towtruck Tina...came off as a "trying to be adult" thing. =\

Oh this was so worth staying up for. I don't wanna wait til January for the rest of the new ones though. Go away Oblongs, let Mission Hill get teamed up with Home Movies for damn good block of stuff on Sundays. Yes.
(edit) And like a goof, I checked, and www.movieweinerorwinner.com (or "ie", I checked both cause my memory sucks) doesn't exist. Yet...

Once again Mcgurk shines, this time as a pest against "principal" Lynch. I liked the setup for Mcgurk's car, but I didn't like the end result with the car dying yet again (it just happened way too much). The Brendon storyline was ok (I mostly liked the movie review angle of it), though that whole "www" thing did get old after a while and stopped before it got annoying. The episode was still good regardless so that's why I give it a solid B grade.

this was great! HM continues to be much better then people give it credit for!
loved: Melissa's WWW-nagging. she's soooo right. brendan's review montage. their "just my opinion" movie.
random good quotes~ "friends steal things for other friends" "if I do something wrong you'll pat my head..ow ow ow!" "a car full of elk!!!" "thats why you make the big bucks - don't you mean ELK?"
thank you AS! but showing a good episode like this only makes me want more HM! january is soooo far away! 5 outta 5 http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

Well, um, theres nothing there but a "Page canot be displayed" thing yet, so, in a sense it doesn't exist. And I'm sticking to that. :p
Now if you excuse me I have to go pee in your office.

So glad I happened to be up!
I wonder if Lynch will be the principal for a while to come.
Tow Truck Tina was...unexpected.
Jason is becoming less pleasant with every new episode (not less funny).
I enjoyed Coach's transparencies.

Dear www.movie-weiner-or-winner.com,
In conclusion, I think it is safe to say, the season is off to a good start.
here are somethings I noticed while partaking in its many wonders:
-Lynch's cat costume in his office
-Hot Dog Man flashing at the end of "All that violence" and the names: Vin Weasle, Tanny TaVito, Johnny Deep. And there was a Disco Death Squad, too, in the movie.
-Brendon's "Hardest Questions Ever" book.
-The Einstien picture from "Broken Dreams"
-Shannon writing "Interm" or Inturn (can remember) on the door
-You think Brendon's hair is brushed over in "O' pinion, Where Out Thou", but when he takes it off, its a wig.
- Spaz cola and Poopkorn make another appearance.
- Brendon doesn't do a very good job spell checking. He only corrects one word.
- On the main page of the site, one of the reviewers names is "assmonkey". Brendon's "In conclusion" is also seen, along with his name: Movie Guy.
-What do you think Brendon did with all that money?
I thought it was a great episode. Mcguirk was funny. The kids were great. The ending was fab. ("Anyone want a wine cooler?" "Jason, where'd you get that?" "Your dad.")
I always thought Erik was up to something *dot dot dot*
One of my favorite parts was McGuirk taking over science. "Liquor before beer, never fear. Beer before liquor, throw up quicker." And melissa was taking notes. i also liked how brendon had "The hardest questions" book in science. Excellent.
I like the review montage. "The comedy was funny. Read the book. The phone book. It had less characters then this movie. I mean, what is it with these english..."
"Dont stay for the ending, because its too scary".
(I'll try and fix this review up later when you do that capsule, Landstander *hint hint* but hey, you have till January....)
so...do you think we will see more of that baby thingie that linda had? I hope so. I bet paula will get stuck watching it from time to time.
hah. good episode. have it on tape. yay.

Good thing I made sure I had plenty of tape left, I thought I almost missed it.
Its a good, average, decent ep of Home Movies. Its not a shocker to begin the season like Shore Leave was, which some people didn't like becuase of that although I found it hilarious, but its good, HM stuff,
I liked all of it. The Tina joke was funny, but did seem to come out of nowhere.
What I was thinking when Coach said he's read about her that she was going to turn out to be one of those urban legend killers with all the rumors the kids were discussing :anime:
Also liked the voiceovers with the credits. Mr. LUNch is in the newspaper (poor Mr.LYNch, not one mention :p )

No!!!! Curses! I set the timer on the VCR, but was too tired when I went to bed to remember that I needed to turn the power off to the vcr in order for the record function to work (why is that? It records with OTR just fine witht he power on!)

Woo, haven't been on here for a long time. Well, if there's a new HM episode, you can expect me to be on here.
There are two things that I should mention beforehand -- 1.) I was extremely tired while watching this episode. 2.) I was (and still am) incredibly sick while watching this episode.
I know I should probably view it another day when I'm feeling better, but whatevs. I was kind of underwhelmed by the episode, generally. I'm sure jokes were flying over my head constantly (me being in the worst state possible), but those that did stick weren't particularly funny to me or anything, save for a few. McGuirk was featured quite a lot in this episode. He was pretty funny. And I love, of course, the whole movie-weiner-or-winner.com thing (Melissa: "You don't have to say w-w-w"). The little amount that Paula was featured was really good.
But... I dunno. Expect a completely revised review next time I catch this episode (again, in a much better state). Unless I have the same unfortunate opinion. Blah. B-

Well If Everyone's Entitled To Home Movies "Everyone's Entitled To My Opinion" Episode Review, Then They are for me too, right?
In Conclusion, The Home Movies Episode "Everyone's Entitled To My Opinion" was a good episode, but not one of the best.
And why wasn't it one of the best? There's a simple reason for that. It wasn't the funniest, it didn't have the best plot, it didn't have the best character development or character interactions, and let's not forget that it had a lot to life up to. This is the only new Season 4 episode of 2003, and on top of that it was a STEALTH premiere. And a STEALTH premiere should be something you should brag to people about because chances are, even if they are fans of the show, they didn't even know about it and probably didn't see it. However, they may ask why exactly this wasn't the best episode, so I would tell them more in depth, starting with
The Comedy- Not that this episode didn't have it's share of comedic moments. The discussion on wether to say WWW before a website, Brendon's reviews. McGuirk taking over science class and then chilling with Lynch in the office, Jason and Melissa's opinions on Brednon's script, Melissa saying her Dad buys Alcholol for teenagers on Fridays, Brendon's reviews and then his assesment of what the lesson he learned from this episode, and the ending (it said worst ending material, but it wasn't. It had some good moments, like Jason mentiong he got a wine cooler from Melissa's Dad and Mr Lynch being referred to as Mr. Lunch in the Principal's Monthly). Yes, funny moments they were, but the best they were not. Some of the scenes seemed to stretch out for a little to long (McGuirk in Lynch's office, the Kids and McGuirk trying to drive to the preimere) but in the end, it comes down to that some of the jokes weren't the best they've been, and there are better ones found in other episodes.
The Plot- Like most Home Movie episodes, we had two plots going on (plus the movie of the day): The Brendon becomes a online film critic, and Lynch becomes Interm Prinicpal temporary and McGuirk takes advantage of it. Not the worst plots, but not the best plots. They made sense, but didn't really seem to connect that much (outside of a few Brendon talking to McGuirk and then later to Lynch scenes) and seemed slightly underdevolped (They could of developed Lynch being Principal more instead of just focusing on McGuirk taking advantage of it) but nothing really to complain about though. They just weren't the best plots, is all.
Character Development And Interaction: Like most HM, this one had some great conversations (Lynch to Walter and Perry about announcing he's an Interm Principal, Brendon and Paula when Brendon got his paycheck, Lynch and Brendon when Lynch goes to the monkey bars to think, Brendon Jason and Melissa's conversations (espically the one Brendon and Melissa had on the Soccer field and Coach McGuirk joined in when they were playing a game, Jason and Melissa saying Brendon's spending too much time on his movies in the sandpit, and then waiting for McGuirk to drive them to the premiere). Nothing extraordinary wrong, but nothing totally perfect either.
Overall a good episode, in my opinion, and the point is, everyone's opinions matter.... except some people I know but I won't say who.
OVERALL: B+
Little Notes:
1. During the scene where McGuirk and Lynch are talking in they're office (for the first time) we have a pan before that of Lynch's door and someone is writing something on it. If you look carefully, you'll see it's Shannon from "The Art Of Sucker Punch" and "Politics".
2. Melissa states that you don't need to have to say www before a website because it's a given fact. There are however some websites without a www before them, so you do have to say them sometimes.
3. Some of the desgin's on Tow Truck Tina's character seem to be taken from The Nurse (from "School Nurse" "Writer's Block" and "Bad Influences". Or that's just my opinion.

Thanks to the magic of VCRs, I just finished watching "Everyone's Entitled to my Opinion" and I really liked it, it wasn't great but an episode with a solid plot and some great jokes/conversations. Some things I enjoyed: The WWW conversation, McGuirk teaching the science class. The only thing I didn't really like was "Tow Truck Tina" as Joe said: it felt like they were trying to be adult, and also, it didn't really have any reason for being. Good stuff. I would give this a B+ but...
Grade: A- (I'll be generous because it's the first HM--and ironically the last-- to air for a while)

For those that missed it, this will show again in January 11th when the new season starts (95% sure of that, anyway). It will be advertised as a new episode, too, but super cool people like me will know it isn't.
And no, can't really talk about downloading/tapes on here...sorry. =P

For those wondering about www.movieweinerorwinner.com being registered by CN, it will launch after January 11th and become a Simpson-esque parody site (i.e. "www.whatbadgerseat.com", the Mr. X site [forgot the real URL]), because if they lauched it now, no one would visit and no one would understand ('cept us lucky folks). Because the premiere was a SECRET...WS even ran action cards, it was such a secret! Onto the review...
...I just came home from Arizona with a huge TiVo load of things to watch because everytime something good came on, my great-grandmother was there and I needed to spend some "time" with her even though I saw her four hours ago. Anyways, I sat down, and watched Simpsons (it was OK) and then...HM. And...wow. Just...wow. Funny, funny, but...wow. The animation is suberb these days. The pacing, Simpsons/Family Guy style. It was hilarious, especially Melissa's "www" conversations. But, are Brendon's movies going to be presented in widescreen now? Because that's pretty cool.
Oh, yes, and McGuirk went all out tonight. Home Movies isn't the humble, subtle humor show it was once before. Now it's a laugh makin' machine tumbling funny stuff by the second. I guess the writers caught wind that if they ever want to get noticed, they'd have to upgrade themselves to the blantant humor of Futurama and Family Guy, its real two competitors (HM, Futurama and Family Guy are the only real big half-hour comedies on AS). And it's not a bad thing, I like the new HM. It still has its wildly hilarious convesations, just the show is turned from "Subtle" to "Power Drive". Towtruck Tina? "Power Drive". WWW conversations? "Subtle". Lynch getting a wedgie from McGuirk? "Power Drive". Melissa talking about her dad buying beer for teens? "Subtle". All and all, a good mix, and a funny episode. A-...

Wish I had seen this in November, great episode not one second was bad. The reviews were funny as were the www bits. Great improvment from last week.
This was a very good episode, MUCH better than last week's. The www discussions and McGuirk trying to drive away on the soccer field with a dead battery were the funniest bits. I also liked Mcguirk's spicing up Lynch's office (or should I say interim office). I wish they used Paula a little more. She seems to be getting pushed to the wayside.

dubba-u dubba-u dubba-u dot This episode ruled dot com. I had a little personal mixup when the ep was stealthed, so I missed it, but I was glad to see it when it re-aired...albeit months later. The basic plot was good-- I had always wanted to see Brendon as a critic. The subplot with McGuirk and Lynch was golden. The Tow Truck Tina bit was hilarious.
Melissa's starting to turn into more of a really loud, dynamic character, IMO (not that she wasn't already, but moreso now.) The 'www' thing was close to overdone, but it was still funny. The ending was pretty good as well, and overall, I give this ep an A-.

Absolutely histerical. Best episode this season, so far. So pissed that I missed it in Nov  . but I'm glad I saw it last night. I love jokes like the whole WWW discussions. Thats what makes Home Movies funny, IMO.
To just love stupid, pointless arguments like that especially when you realize they are supposed to be only 8 yrs old.
Jason is starting to grow on me the more he becomes confident, telling Brendon what he doesn't like, standing up for himself. And the Wedgie, wouldn't you have fired McGurk ?
I give to a 4.5 out of 5. Not perfect but close.

Ahh, comfort. Even though I've got this one taped from the stealth showing, we still sat and watched it eagerly. This is my second favorite so far. I loved the whole conversation about elk, and Melissa's dad buying beer. "Well, he says they're just gonna buy it in a couple years anyway! ... Makes sense when he says it." The animation's getting so superb, with key facial expressions and whatnot. Great ep.
Gosh, this episode was lovely. Definitetly better than Camp or whatever last week's disaster was called. The dialogue was absolutely amazing, the scene in the bushes was one of my favorites. The ending, ironicaly called by them, "The worst ending ever" was one of the best for just how unexpectadly random and witty it was.

I liked this episode a lot more seeing it a second time, for whatever reason. Maybe things are more enjoyable when you're not half-asleep. =P
But yeah, this was great, for the reasons I already mentioned. Also I would add I really liked the scene right before the commercial:
Paula: Brendon, get up here now.
Brendon: ...did you find my checks?
Paula: What?!
Brendon: What?
But yeah, loved it, 2nd best this season next to Greasy.

So far Camp is my favorite, but this is a close 2nd. I loved when McGuirk was trying to show off with his car but the battery died making him look like an idiot. Or when Jason said he got those wine coolers from Melissa's dad.
"You got to stop McGuirk, he came in to my class and started teaching again!"

This was great. I just discovered Home Movies recently, and have become a fan very quickly. I love Brenden, Jason, and Melissa's arguments. They're so non-linear it's surreal. Coach McGuirk trying to get Lynch to abuse his power was funny. "I don't drink soda!" Paula and Brenden always have great moments together. "When I make a mistake you just pat my head and... Ow! Ow! Ow!" They seem more like great friends than mother and son. But at least Brenden's cool enough to appreciate it. Walter and Perry? They're my favorites, which is cool because there really isn't a character on the show I dislike.
