Big O episode 26 edits

Something I found interesting. A few things were edited in episode 26, this guy has some of them done, but there are a few more. Some of these edits seem strange, in some cases they redrew frames to make the lip sync better.

Seriously, it looks like all of the "edits" were done to improve the show, so I find nothing wrong with them.

(IE: Japan got the unfinished product, while the US got the finished product, rather than Armada, where the US got the unfinished product, and Japan got the finished product?)

A few things to note here:

1) I'm going to assume that the version people are basing comparisons on is the original January-April Japanese broadcast of the series (supported by the fact that there's no CN logo in the Japanese version screenshots). It's very possible that these changes were made for the later Toonami Japan airing, and we got the same version as that. In fact, it'd be my guess that all of those changes except for the mouth alterations were in the Japanese-language Toonami Japan airing, and all of them including the mouth alterations were in the English-language Toonami Japan airing. Since the season had already been captured earlier in the year (and no one knew there were changes being made), I doubt anyone bothered to capture the Toonami airing. Though I've always wondered why we didn't see the dub of the last episode turn up somewhere, considering it aired in Japan some six weeks before it did here...

2) I'd noticed throughout the second season that the mouth movements were unusually well-matched. Given that we now know changes were made to the final episode to make that the case, I wonder if other episodes in the season had similar changes made?

I saw those screencaps about the mouth flaps... but are we sure that is synched up to the right frame? Looks like it may be a couple tics off, which could account for a different lip placement.

Maybe those mouth flaps occurring in the English version didn't occur at all in the Japanese version.

They did occur, but the 'movement' is a bit different.

Ex) In one scene Alex's mouth opens all the way, but in the JP version it don'st really open all the way.
