Sunday, January 4th is a repeat of ADULT SWIM NEW YEARS EVE 2003.

Yeah, its just a repeat. Not all comedy*.
*Though here's hoping it will be afterwards...
Why? So all the fanboys burn?

It doesn't matter to me until we get new action stuff instead of reruns.

I just like the idea of 3 hours of solid comedy on Sunday. Usually found myself not paying attention after 1 AM, anyway (and though Big O Season 2 kicked major ass, I always thought it didn't mix, having it airing before Brak and ATHF. I was usually pondering the episode through most of the Brak Show =P )
Tis just I, though.

For some strange reason, I loved the idea of Big O season 2 (will refer to it as this since and not *cough* BIG O II [that's what Bandai is calling the freakin DVDs..."Oh God" was my immediate reaction]) at the beginning of the block. Maybe it's because I loved the fact that it was an already "out of the box" kind of show, breaking..."out of the box".

I'd wish they'd bring back the Toonami New Years Evil marathon. I did NOT watch Adult Swim New Years.

Meh. I prefer a mix of action and comedy. The block tends to seem somewhat... uninteresting otherwise. Not enough variety, in my humble opinion.

what they really ought to do is full integrate comedy&action by having 'em switch off every half hour! that'd keep me not to full of either like how there's a comedy overdose on Sundays and and action overdose on weekdays. http://members.aol.com/kimminakochan/chicken.gif

I'd have to agree w/ ya there. It would be nice to see comedy get full control of Sundays again. Just doesn't feel right watching anime on Sunday since ASA.

I'd also prefer all comedy over anime reruns.
Especially over played anime reruns.

...no worse than overplayed comedy reruns, which is all you'd be getting in that 1AM-2AM hour, probably.
(Though I will admit, it'd be nice if they could make the anime stuff on the 1AM-2AM Sunday lineup different from the anime stuff on the weekdays. They have enough stuff to do that, at least.)

I kinda agree... It would've been a good idea for them to have New Year's Evil from like 8 PM-12 AM, then Adult Swim New Years from 12-6 AM.

Sure it did. Big O was something CN funded and put effort into getting created, so they gave it the best time slot possible. The action stuff at the end was merely part of the normal schedule, so there was no need for them to change it just because Big O was there.

YES! That's the only time I will ever watch Toonami. The Garlic Jr. NYE was awesome, I had never seen it before. Although the AS New Year's is nice too. But I prefer Toonami over AS (only in this situation).

Having any New Years thing is good, too bad we can't have both. It was nice to see Gundam Wing again. Yes, its not as good as the others, but it was good fun.
And the AS new Years stuff was good with Brak and Carl and Baffeler Meal. I'm glad Brak managed to get worked into AS's version since he was apart of the previous, non-AS celebration the year before. Brak's head as the ball was fun, but Meatwad was even better, since it was actually placed over the real ball instead of total animation, and Meatwad not liking what's happening :p
