I liked it. Seeing the Leoblaze was pretty cool, and the CGI seemed better. I would have liked to see R.D. find a way to take down the Buster Fury without the Fire Phoenix, but it was fine.

But Matt is gonna get a raw deal just for existing. I know it.

Hey, a little kid that isn't annoying! What a concept :p .

I liked this episode. It showed a spark of a good fight, but it fell through to build more of anticipation for when RD and Blake have it out later. I don't mind, since it gave way to a story that I was able to sit through. As long as Matt doesn't turn into a complete "mini-me" of RD (which we saw a glimpse of in that soda drinking scene), then I'm okay with him.

Another plus to the episode, Brian Drummond's voice as Blake. I never get enough of his talent.

Also., why don't they just let Buster Eagle go at Liger Zero by itself, Buster Eagle can fly, so it doesn't have to worry about claws, then it's just Buster Eagle's quite large cannons, vs. Liger Zero's small little chest cannons...

It's The Last One Of It's Kind Review In The Zoid Fuzors Episode Review of "The Kid Name Matt".

(Note: This starts off topic a bit. Bear with me).

Last week, I offically gave up on Knights of The Zodiac. The bad plotting, the boring fights, the horrendous edits by DIC, and anything else that was part of KotZ made me finally quit on the show after about 11 or so episodes. People asked "why'd it take so long for you to realize how much it sucked" and stuff like that. Well, I like to give a series a while to grow on me before I completley turn away from it, however I do realize that there should only be so much of a limit given, and if a series isn't going to improve by some point, it isn't going to improve to what you want it to improve at. So what's the point with this? Plain and simple, my friends:

I GIVE UP ON ZOIDS FUZORS!!!!

To be honest, I really haven't watched that much of Chaotic Century/Guardian Force, and didn't really like the little I saw of it. I enjoyed Zoids Zero (it's a good "please remove brain and look at the action" type of show and it has some good humor at times) but Fuzors? Forget about it? Lame characters, plot that goes nowhere (blah blah, I'm a Fuzor now and my partner's a big flaming bird and everyone hates me because I'm an idiot and half of the people who hate me are jerks) and fairly cliche storylines (Like today's episode. Sure Matt looks a bit intresting now, but who wants to bet he becomes little more then the cute little child character on the show) and one charactermanship (aka only one character's important on the show and no one else really matters. Sure there are other cases, but none that bug me as much as Zoids Fuzors).

So in other words, adding a Matt to the cast dosen't help things. If it was Matt Wilson, it would at least be entertaining ("Hey R.D, you know that you are just plain useless and you're show is crap?" or something like that) but it just dosen't work this way. I think this episode was a bit better then the last two, but I just don't care anymore. C+

Overall Predicted Series Grade: D+

So I'm gone Zoid Fuzors. Get yourself some other sucker (Disappears from the zoid world forever).

I'm really begining to like Zoids Fuzors. It might be an toy ad, but it's one of the better toy adds out there. This episode was pretty good, and the kid looks like he might not be annoying. B- For lacking on the fight.

I'm going to have to ask how R.D. managing to be the prominant character is any different from the way things handled in ZERO. Bit was almost always the main character early on, and they didn't really focus on many of the others until further in. Even in Harry's introduction episode, which had Leena manipulating everyone, Bit was still the one to ultimately defeat the Dark Horn, wasn't he? Heck, Bit and Liger 0 defeated Naomi's gunsniper, didn't he?

And Fuzors has done a fairly good job of giving people character without exclusively focusing on them, I think. Like him or not, but someone like Sigma already has a lot more character than Brad in Zero did at this point. The only one that hasn't had much to define him is Helmet.

As for the plot going nowhere, neither did Zero's, and I still think that was a good show. A battle a day is not a running plot, and the Backdraft group become no different from the common challengers when it was revealed who they were.

And the bird armor mcguffin is no different than the original Zero's armor. I'd also reckon that as the series progresses, the Ligero 0 Phoenix will stop being a battle ender.

The one thing that brings Fuzors down in my eyes is that the CGI could use some work.

The lack of flying ability didn't stop the Liger 0 in the last series.

But the Buster Fury has a shield, flight, two giant cannons, and a charged particle cannon, so combining is really an advantage.

Well, maybe the Buster Eagle can fly faster than the Buster Fury...

Funny. I guess he defeated the Beserk Fury in episode 1 in a manner that didn't involve the Strike Laser claw. And the Killer Spiner didn't suffer from power failure.

And what if they explain the Savage Hammer rivalry? What if they ARE saving the exposition for later?

... Wow, nice over simplification there. One, it overlooks the fact that Sweet, much like everyone else, only acts like that towards him at times because RD does things to deserve it. As for no character development... it's FIVE EPISODES IN... In Zero, BIT didn't have any character development FIVE EPISODES IN. Hell, even CC didn't have much character development FIVE EPISODES IN.

And I suppose Helmet should just let RD's actions drag the team's performance down. You act like being serious is a bad thing.

As for Sigma, yes, he's a prick. There are also people who are like that.

Matt is far from RD's clone. Yes, they do have some similarities, and they've developed a buddy system, but Matt shows some resourcefulness and seriousness for his age. Yes, he does show some foolishness by taking the Leoblaze, but he doesn't greet everything with the bravado that RD does.

As for the Liger thing, it's a tradition. Kind of like how every digimon main character has goggles, or how most Transformer leaders are based on the Optimus Prime design.

And I have an ingrown toenail. Nice talking to you buddy! NOW I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY WE SPENT ON CGI AND NOT ON THE SCRIPTS AND THE ACTING AND. Well that's it for the Adult Swim news. And this is why 9 out of 10 Zoid Trainers want they're news not of Liger's butt but rather mine.

The acting is no worse than anything else this group of voice actors have done, and they have done other things.

And I'd rather not get my news out of anyone's butt.

I do have to wonder when sensible, respective comments became less effective than ones like the above parody.

Dude, this episode ROCKED! I can't believe it was so bad until now. I actually felt some emotion when they started to go a bit in to RD's past, and also with the kid. I felt some emotion when the kid was trying to defend his apartment from that big lance zoid (I don't know its name). And the fights were great. It ended horribly anticlimactically, but what did happen was great. RD intro to the battle, and going all bad ass by dodging the Buster Fury's attacks. This episode really really impressed me. Thank god it has finally stopped sucking. I just hope next week's is as good or better.

If the lack of backstory concerning RD's rivalry annoys Diana, than the CCC/GF long, long, too long to make the backstory worth anything, wait for the backstory behind Raven's hatred of Zoids will drive her nuts.

It was that bad?!!! I thought this was an meh/ok episode. It did delve alittle into R.D.'s character. Also watching little Matt bravely defend his home was a bit moving. Although at the sametime I wanted to barf as this little kid learned how to pilot a huge mech like that in such a short time. I will have to agree with Diana. If this little Matt turns into a mini-R.D I will stop watching this series too... But for now he does not appear to be as freakingly annoying as those Transformer Armada kids or that little Speed Racer twit.

Hmm, here's my 2 cents about DianaGohan's post. I do enjoy reading her posts, although I have to say the following. I believe we should repect the opinons of others, in this case Diana's post. But at the same time please keep in mind that if a post looks offensive to someone, that will be the reaction you will recieve and should expect.

Favorite part of this episode. Watching R.D. being a big brother to little Matt...

If Matt stays around in the show, I hope there's a point to it.

It seems that they aren't just Zoid tournament fighters, they also do odd jobs (delivery service, mercinary work, etc.) on the side. I guess that sets it apart from NC Zero if nothing else, since Blitz Team and their opponents seemed to just do tournament fighting. Of course, that meant that NC Zero got to focus on the fights. It gave that show identity. I don't know what Fuzor's identity is yet.
