I know what you're thinking. No, I'm not John Denver. ;) :p

After much anticipation, packing, and more nerves than one can imagine, I'm finally moving away from home. FAR away. :p On top of this, I've never set foot on a plane, so to say I'm apprehensive would be an understatement. :p

That said, anyone got any fun/humorous/anything but "Oh crap, we're gonna die!" plane stories to share? I'd love to see some to ease my mind. :)

Theres........Somethingonthewing.

<ahem>

sorry about the Shatner voice.

... I've seen a person pop an ear drum and have blood come from their ears once during a trans-atlantic flight, But I can only assume that person was unusually suceptable to such an injury. Other than that.... I've never personally been hurt or scared on a flight.

Oh BTW SouthWest Sucks

Their planes are like an Over Packed Schoolbus full of Old People and Stale Air.

I've flown United, American, Delta, Virgin, and Southwest. DON't FLY SOUTHWEST.

Spend the extra $20 and take an exciting trip on a real airplane flown by real pilots. (Rather than Southwest's underpaid Flying Busdrivers.)

If it's a short commuting flight though Southwest is the most fun. Their planes are full of people who fly all the time so the crew and captain can make little jokes over the intercom.

Hey BY1, all that you oughta worry about, really, are bad movies, bad food, crying children, and snappily-dressed and overly-made-up cougar stewardesses hittin' on ya. :p

Besides, as I said before, just keep thinking about what's at the other end of that flight. Special stuff there, man. Trust me, I know this to be true. :)

Always take Chicken. The beef will do things that can't be described with words and expressions.

Or better yet, have Ashley cook you a nice meal when you get home. :D

On topic, flying back from Tenerife, we had some women who was drunk before we set off, so the crew tried to kick her off the plane, it took 3 men 25 minutes to get the woman off the plane. The police where called, and they handcuffed and (literally) carried her out. Can't be doing with drunk women (except when I am dancing with them off course)

Spidey's right, take the chicken!

Hope the flight goes well and remember to stay in your seat during take off, on my last trip across the pond we were climbing upwards at goodness knows what number of degrees (just lifted off so steep enough to warrant crampons) and this doddery old guy comes hauling himself up the plane hand over hand using the seats for handholds and tries to get in the loo ... until that point in time I never knew a stewardess could scream at someone like that, the sound barrier had no chance :D

First, congrats on the move, bro... Im sure youll be happy where youll be (and the people youll be with) ;)

If and when they ask you to take off your shoes, you better damn well do it! :p Last thing you need is an M-16 pointed at you (Had experience with that).

Get there at least 2 hours early, just in case they bump you off your flight or cancell it. That way, you have enough time to complain and find anohther flight :D

Either pop your ears or chew gum to ease the pressure in your head... Not a fun feeling when you dont :p

*hugs Sel and shakes BY1's hand* :)

Last time I've been on a plane was June 2001. No, I'm not paranoid of a terrorist attack, but I haven't had time to take any vacations that entail a plane. It's not that bad- a lot of people make airline travel look much worse than it actually is. The downsides? Crying babies and skimpy meals. Otherwise, it beats the heck out of sitting on a bus for a week!

Bon voyage, and all that stuff http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Flying is really a piece of cake, except for the descent (I always hate 'falling' motions). Just bring some gum to help relieve the pressure in your ears.

Congrats you guys!! :D :D
