There was an animated short, produced at least as far back as the early 60's, possibly earlier, about a line who was in love with a circle. She found him rigid and preferred a squiggle. The line finally found a way to bend, delighting the circle with the complex forms he could make. She left the squiggle, and she and the line lived happily ever after. I believe it was narrated by Edward Everett Norton.
I've been trying to hunt down the studio and possibly a copy of it, but I can't remember the title for certain. Can anyone help?

This cartoon is an Academy Award winning shorts, The Dot and the Line directed by Chuck Jones, produced by SIB Tower 12/ MGM and based on the Norman Juster book. It's one of two non-Tom & Jerry cartoons produced by Jones at Metro (the other was The Bear Who Wasn't based on the book by Frank Tashlin who collaborated with Jones on the cartoon)

If anyone has not seen this one, somehow somewhere, at some place on the cartoon channel, see it...It is one of the most delightful, 7 or 8 minutes you will have.... Just fun... ;) stuart oldtoonguy

This was in a line of shorts that Jones was using objects (such as musical notes, and dots) and doing lots of things with them. This is his best work IMO.
