Hello.. I'm knew to this baord.. I usally post on Entertainment, DC and Comics.. but I have a question that I am hoping someone here can answer.

I grew up with the old He-man, and I watch the new with my son... With the news rumor that there will be a new He-man movie.. with Jennifer Garner being She-Ra.. I was wondering if anyone knows if they will be introducing her into this new series? if so.. will she actually stay on the series or have a spin-off like she did in the 80s?

Thanks!!

Here's my thoughts on the situation

That wouldn't happen for a while (at best). First, She-Ra would have to be introduced in the new CN He-Man series, then she would have to last a season in the show, and then if the demand was high enough and the creative team had the money, it could be possible. But that's a lot of ifs, and I think that we'll be lucky for a She-Ra apperance, let alone a series.

So in other words, I don't think so... Masenko.

Well, we know that Hordak exists in this new He-Man Universe.

Back in the 80's, Hordak was the villian on the She-Ra show, though the toy line had Hordak purely as a He-Man villian since the She-Ra toys were very much aimed at girls.

So having Hordak doesn't necessarily mean we're going to have She-Ra too. They could just as easily do it without her as with her.

Though I suspect that if they did bring her in, it would be as part of the main show and not a spin off. The 80's She-Ra was more or less a failure, presumably because the show was essentially more of the same of what He-Man had done, i.e. something boys watch and girls don't, yet the toys were too girly for boys to get to put alongside their He-Man figures.

I wish that The Cartoon Network would air the old He-Man and She-Ra episodes that would be Great if they aired that on The Cartoon Network.

Mattel has no plans to bring back She-Ra as of now. Many She-Ra fans are worried that she'll never show. I personally like She-Ra more than He-Man and consider her a very important part of MOTU history. So I would like to see her reutrn, but I'm also very afraid of how Mattel revamps her if they do.

Considering that they've brought back a majority of the old toys as characters, it would seem a shame to not have She-Ra in some form. But then, She-Ra was just a spin-off. And sometimes spin-offs are better forgotten. Not that the 80's She-Ra was bad, it was a delightful substitute for contiued episodes of He-Man. But I don't think the toy line did well, and the toy line is the point of the excercise.

The toy line, from what I know of it, did not do to well. However, if they brought She-Ra back as part of the MOTU Line, then it might do better. Plus, more girls like that sort of thing. My Little girl likes He-Man. She also watches Totally Spies, and other girl shows. So if it was a seperate line, it may do better this time around.

According to some Mike Youung Animation offical that work on the new He-Man & Masters Of The Universe who chatted with the people over at he-man.org, a while back said that it is are likely will get to see She-Ra, Hordak, and other characters from the She-Ra series to show up either this season or next season.

I don't know about anything about a new He-Man live action movie through, if there is talk of a new movie, I hope it will be on the same level as the Lord Of The Rings movies. Lots of drama + action fighting sequences.

Back in the 80s I was a huge He-Man fan, had nearly all the toys, watched the She-Ra show, etc. I would have bought the She-Ra toys too if not for the fact that they stuck little hairbrushes in with them, which pretty much screams "Hi I'm a girl's doll!"

That was the failure of the whole thing, thinking they could get girls interested in the series. It was a He-Man spin off, of course the fans are going to be the He-Man fans, i.e. boys.

Well, we know that Hordak exists in this new He-Man Universe.

I saw artwork of two other Horde characters a year ago, so presumably we're getting the whole lot of them. But to what degree? The fairly even m/f Horde from the She-Ra show? The Horde boys club from the mini-comics? Or something in between? Personally, I'd like some time to be spend with Adora when she's part of the Horde before She-Ra comes into the picture. Perhaps She-Ra isn't needed until a. the Horde muscles in on Etheria; or b. Adam becomes king and cannot devote the same amount of time to being He-Man.

Well, you have to remember that all the Horde guys showed up in the He-Man toy line as the Horde, and all the Horde gals showed up in the She-Ra toy line as unaligned villians. Presumably they have access to characters from both toy lines, so given enough time they would use all the Horde people, guy and gal.

Of course She-Ra had her own troop of allies too, so ultimately iif they brought everybody into the modern day He-Man show the cast would get really crowded. Which is why She-Ra worked fairly well as a spin-off show with its own identity, even though the toy line for it was botched.

I'm still trying to picture what a redesigned She-ra would look like...I mean, would it be like the current Adam/He-man from the current cartoon?

Would we see a mousy little girl Adora, who turns into a big musclebound woman who belongs on the cover of Muscle magazine? :p

Still, I look back upon the original She-ra miniseries with fondness, (though the spinoff cartoon itself didn't live up to be as great as the original He-Man) so I say, bring her back!

Well.. I think She-Ra would look like Teela? hmm.. or, wow, I don't know. But I have heard that they are bringing the Horde into MOTU, so she has to follow, I would think

Naw, it would be a mousy teenage Adora who turns into a twenty-something
supermodel who belongs in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Strong chicks in this genre are never over-muscled like real world female body builders. Just look at Wonder Woman. Or She-Hulk. She-hulk should be huge, but she's just tall.
