This site could possibly be the most exstensive offical site CN has ever launched. It has character bios, vechile descriptions,a cool game, and the prospect of being able to watch the shorts online with commentary from Genndy himself doesn't sound to shabby[understatement alert]. http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/clonewars/index.html

Ironic the most extensive CN site for a show is one where the episodes are each 5 minutes long and are considered shorts, but it's still a good web site. My hype for Clone Wars is even more now.

After being exposed to a lot of Star Wars artwork (from stills of that godawful Christmas special, to the fabulous manga, to the Dark Horse comics) I'd rate this in the middle. I'm not really feeling it, but it has an original quality.

I can't wait to see the micro series. The site was done pretty well, and the promos are getting me super excited. I'm glad there is actually gonna be something between now and May 2005. Heck, it's still a year away from the first trailer for Ep.3 being released.. Clone wars looks like it's gonna be good.

I'll watch it but...who wants to bet nothing from any of the Clone Wars multimedia will be in Episode III? Not saying I want a Reference-A-Minute, but as far as I'm concerned this show isn't in continuity unless we get at least some reference to it in the final film.

Oh no... 5 minute chapters?!
arg it's gonna be yet another IGPX all over again

as much as I'd love to see this series, I'm probably not gonna sit through some justice leage junk and random kiddie shows to see it. I realy hate the whole "micro series" idea. 5 minutes that you might miss as opposed to an entire episode worth watching is not a good idea.

Chances are I'll catch a glimpse of it as I'm watching that day, but i doubt I'll see much of it if it's anything like IGPX which for the most part just turned into a website push.

When I saw the previews in magazines I expected a series, or a miniseries at least. Maybe they will do that still. I just hope they stop this whole 5 minute commercial thing passing em off as series's

I'd rather not see a Star Wars TV series personally, largely because the EU gives into what will make the fanboys drool. Look at Clone Wars- we have a female Sith who wields 2 curved-handle lightsabers. It sounds like something out of a fanfic or a custom player in one of the Jedi Knight games.

I think the Sith girl with the dual sabers in in fact from the book series from what I've heard. And supposedly the padawan to Count Dooku which is the reason for the sabers being similar to his.

It's not the fact the series is being made that bugs me, it's how they're doing it with this "micro series" junk. I'd much rather have one 30 minute episode than 6 dinky little 5 minute commercials.

There's alot more to the clone wars story than the movie shows us. And in fact I believe alot of it was written even before the origional trilogy came out. So this is Lucas's way of telling us the rest of the clone wars stuff before episode 3 is out in the theaters. Things like the video game pick up right after the movie ended, and I think that's what this does. I don't think however that it makes stuff up.

Like I said though, this micro series junk is more annoying than anything. a one time 30 minute run is better than these blips of a show.

Based on what I've read she already has the sabers when Dooku finds her, fighting in gladatorial battles. Dooku fights her to test her skills and although he wins, the battle is close enough that he entrusts her with the job of killing Anakin. But you're right, she has been in the Clone Wars comics first. However, she's still some uber character designed to make fans go "Oooooooh!":

1. She's a female Sith
2. She has two lightsabers
3. Both sabers follow the unique design that was used for Dooku's.

The EU has shot itself in the foot too many times for me to really see it as part of the story. Look at the Battle Droids- every TPM reference book said they were based on the look of dead Nemoidians. Come AOTC, that's changed to them being based on the Geonosions.

I'm really looking forward to the CLone Wars shorts. Lucas wrote them and Gendy directed. ... I dunno, sounds good to me. :)

If you are not looking forward to see the shorts, they are going to show them alltogether at one point. I can't remember whn, exactly. It think it might be the Friday of the second week they air. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Where was it said that Lucas wrote these? I'm sure he told them what they could and couldn't do, but I doubt he sat down and scripted any episodes.

Oh, and they will premiere not with Justice League or kiddy junk, but with Samurai Jack.

I was kind of surprised reading that bit of info myself. I was wondering if they got the prequel actors to do any of the voices so I headed on over to IMDB. It listed Lucas as the writer. Here's the link: Clone Wars (http://imdb.com/title/tt0361243/)

edit: Now that I look at it again it says "writing credits". Does that mean he's the writer? Or what you said?

That's a general creator credit, like how EVERY Gundam anime or manga gives credit to Tomino, since he came up with Gundam in the first place. Lucas came up with the Star Wars universe, hence he gets a credit.

I too am 98% sure Lucas didn't write these episodes. I was under the impression that the Samurai Jack team (lead by Genndy) thought up the whole story and presented to Lucas, who told them what they could and couldn't do.

I mean, Genndy even said that he wanted to explore the emotional impact of Anakin leaving Amadala, but Lucas said they couldn't explore that aspect.

I think as far as who wrote em goes
Lucas made the starwars thing in general, but he does have other writers that probably took care of this project which is more and more turning into a large commercial than a series. (if i wanted chapters I'd read the books).

Things like the GCN,PS2 Clone wars game had tons of made up plot lines and ships designed for the game. But the starwars people liked em enough that some like the AT-XT and speeder tanks were written into the comic book series.

the StarWars thing in general has enough spinoffs and extra area's to the series that it's almost it's own area like sci-fi or fantasy. But he was the origional creator so that's why his name is on the sign.

Is there a projected date where Znath GETS OVER IT? Or does this just keep going on for weeks and weeks?

Geroge Lucas did not write any of the shorts, read the Gendy I'm-not-even-going-to-try-to-spell-his-last-name interview TZ had a few weeks ago. He clearly says Lucas said things they couldn't do (like explore the Anakin/Amadala romance) but that was it.

About the actual site, man it is extensive. Character bios, images, watching the shorts with commentary man. The game looks cool too I'm going to have to play it sometime when I get time.

I just wish this was going to be an actualy thirty minute series. Heck even a thirty minute mini series would be better than a micro series.
