In the "House Builder Uppers" .. Notice when Whimpy saws the boards, it sounds like someone tring to talk like Donald Duck! lol! Yea they use a voice sound for that. The crew probably went out to some California ranch, and found some old timer..."Yep, I can impersonate a saw!" lol
