What the hell kind of idiot takes 9/11 footage (http://klerck.org/tribute.wmv) and puts "funny" music to it??!! :o  I mean, I'm as much for humor as the next guy, but this one definitely crosses the line!! (9/11 humor especially!)

Excuse me....(vomits in disgust)
I know several people who could have thought this up...
My guess is that some people are a little fed up with the tributes that are made for this particular event and the overly visible patrotism.
I know I am sick of seing bumperstickers that say We Will Take Revenge and the overly used God Bless Us - which is an ok sticker but must have been on the top-five bestselling stickers after 9/11.
..or maybe it's just because I am from Europe....
I am not saying I liked the video - I found it to be rather tasteles.

This reminds me of those moronic news reporters on the Pokemon seizure episode story, talking about how bad it was and how the creators should be ashamed of that show, and then turning around and running the seizure scene footage themselves, pissing off millions of parents watching the news with their children.
In other words, there really was no point in posting this for us if it pissed you off so much.

My morbid sense of curiousity got the better of me, so I gave this tripe a viewing. Meh...pretty poor taste if you ask me. And not even that creative either. Just a pile of garbage. It's sad when some people believe this sort of idiocy would pass for "humour".

The footage shouldn't be seen with any music, IMO. It's a moment of stunned silence in the entire world and should be remembered that way.

Only a terrorist would make that! I am a little shamed and disgusted.

I agree with Fish - I'm not entirely sure there isn't a media point underlying the video. How the media depicts tragedy and milks it for entertainment. How many times did we see the same images of the plane ploughing into the building? Because people have a morbid fascination with death and disaster. The media knows that - I think maybe (and I say maybe) that's the implication here. It's mocking the media and the drama it makes for it's own purposes.
Then again, it could be built to shock... *shrug* In all honesty I can't say.
It's tasteless certainly - not my cup of tea. However people deal with death in many different ways. Some find that by mocking tragedy it's their way of dealing with it. Humour is a very subjective thing sometimes it's hard to see what others find funny, or why they do. If you don't like what you see (and that is understandable on this occasion) then don't watch it. I certainly hope it came with a warning.
As with Fish - maybe it's because I'm British and thus also European...
Yes, it's tasteless, but no more so than CNN, which entitled their "terrorists are looking for places to find nuclear weapons" story, "Put Up Your Nukes" and referred to "America's New War" as though it was reality television.
It did have a point to make, and if it disgusts you (and it should, I suspect it's intended to) I encourage you to resensitize yourself to cable news channels. Don't let them get away with layering John Williams-style fanfares over reports about how many people in the US Army have died this week, or naming stories about threats to the peace of millions of people in the same way a circus man names the latest freak show.
Stop watching. I know I did a long time ago. NPR is still on the radio, and newspapers are online for free. And if there's an important piece of video, watch it on C-span or go online and get it streamed, without cuts or comments. The only news I watch anymore is The Daily Show, which is smarter and has more of a social conscience than any of the "real" TV news shows.

People need to lighten up.
9-11 was a horrible tragedy. As a result our constitution is being ripped to shreds and we're fighting terrorists around the globe stretching our military way too thin.
And here's a cute video to take your mind off of those depressing facts.

9-11 was a horrible tragedy. As a result our constitution is being ripped to shreds and we're fighting terrorists around the globe stretching our military way too thin.To add insult to injury, a bill has been passed to allow undocumented/illegal immigrants to get drivers' licenses, free high school education, after three years of which they can apply for PR. It has passed in California, while the state is still in Recall mode.
If you want to be really pissed at something, try the state and federal governments that have almost guaranteed a losing battle in the US war on terrorism by allowing foreigners to obtain legal US IDs.
As for the video, it is designed to offend and insult. Your reactions proved that it has succeeded.

Well... I don't know. I know a lot of people who would have done something like this. But it is wrong. I know that's too general and I'm not taking into account, "oh, it's a reaction to the media" or "it's an expression of individuality" or "they're right to challenge our perspective". But that's bullcrap. It's wrong.
Hey... some media might be doing similar to the tragedy of 9/11, but without such upbeat music (they prefer either brassy, patriotic songs or solemn pop-sounding scores). Isn't there a middle ground? I've only seen, seen publicised at least, in-your-face, mindless patriotism or vile, hateful, "glorifying a tragedy 'cause they're the 'right' ones" crap. There really oughta be a frank, accurate, rightly dramatic (the events themselves lend to that) and respectful media "account". Maybe in a few years...
Oh... no "Pearl Harbour" treatment! I swear, if they try and slip in a love story...

You're not sorry for the bad words since you made the effort of consciously using them. It's doesn't make you point any more impressive. I appreciate your sentiments but you don't do yourself any justice with comments like that. http://forums.toonzone.net/images/smilies/shrug.gif
Anyway, I've watched it a few times and I'm sure it's a jab at the media and not just a humourous glorification - if that was the case, I think many are reading the wrong thing from it.

I agree with SJJ, it certainly is a jab at the media, and in that regard, I can respect it in a way. A few days after 9/11 happened, the media was getting bored with the images they had and even more bored with the fact that they had nothing new to throw on the news, so they turned CNN into a movie channel. Seriously, the day it happened, I thought all the news channels I saw did an excellent job covering it, and then the aftermath. But as the days wore on and the news trickled through really slowly, they had to fill their air time with something. They did the same thing with the Columbine massacre from the get-go, and as sad as it is, the style of coverage CNN gave it made me sick.
Despite all this, I still find this video horribly unsettling, though.
