At Rhino.com click on "Video & DVD" they have a survey for what cartoons you want on DVD. There is a catagory for "other," type in whatever cartoon you want. Some shows make more sense than others. Like how Soup 2 Nuts wants to put out a DVD but doesn't have the funds, here's a way. I'd much rather have Transformers-style packages (Rhino) than South Park digi-paks (WB) for Home Movies.

Getting Home Movies on DVD? It's defintley possible. Space Ghost and ATHF got on DVD, and it's not like Williams Street is SO much more well of then Soup 2 Nuts. But I would give it time, like at least a year or so for Home Movies to come out on DVD, hopefully in season sets.

I could be wrong, but it was my understanding that the Space Ghost and ATHF sets are being released, not by Williams Street proper, but by WB's home video department. While Williams Street might not be that much more well off then Soup 2 Nuts, I don't believe that Soup 2 Nuts has an enormous parent corporation to release their DVDs for them.
(Amazing, something GOOD came out of AOL Time Warner always hovering over Cartoon Network's shoulder! Hooray!)
However, since obviously the desire is there on Soup 2 Nuts part and equally obviously the demand is there from the fans, hopefully they'll be able to cut a deal with somebody. I don't think they could possibly do any better than Rhino-- I've always seen them being very respectful to the franchises they've acquired the rights to in the past.

Didn't they say they were already starting work on a DVD, and a soundtrack? Or was this just fake?

They only said "soundtrack"...which will rule since it will have FULL versions of songs and maybe even all variations of the HM theme (it keeps changing each season)...oh, and DVD will come eventually, maybe around the same time that Family Guy movie comes out (yes, I'm serious)...

This (http://adultswim.animationinsider.net/homemovies/DVD.html) is required reading. I thought a lot of people have read it but I guess I was mistaken. Anyway it talks about a Home Movies DVD.

You do know that the only cartoon Rhino owns the rights to in that poll is ThunderCats right? I don't think it's unreasonable to write in Home Movies. I think it would be easier than getting TMNT.

There was a petition going on for some HM DVDs for awhile there, but I think it's fizzled out now. I know I signed it.

Yeah, the petition sort of died along with the rest of my site. If you like, you can still visit it (http://slapstick.imess.net/newpetition.htm) and marvel at its deadness. :p

I thought that was only for cartoons from the 80's. I put homemovies anyway though.

does Rhino even OWN the Home Movies distribution rights?

They don't have the rights to the majority of the stuff on that list.

I think it was more of a "What would you like to see on DVD?" as opposed to "What can we put on DVD?" kinda deal.
