Which lineup would be better off showing One Piece, if it were to have it's debut in CN next year.

There's nothing extremely adult about, so it would either go to SVES or Toonami.
Some of the fights are EXTREMELY bloody, so probably not Toonami..
...Maybe if they could get it on air late enough at night on Saturdays, it might work.

It doesn't matter how late they put something on SVES, it's still going to be under the TV-Y7 mark. It's constantly rotating so One Piece would get screwed over if it were to air on SVES. One week you could watch Pokèmon at 11:00 and a few weeks later Kenshin takes it's place. Too unstable.
And from what I hear, One Piece has got a lot more than some bloody battles.  :anime: :moon:  :o

Never ever ever EVER bring that up again!
One Piece is Toonami material, but depending on how it's edited it might get the "boot" like Kenshin and HAVE to air on SVES depsite it's TV-Y7-FV rating. On the bright side I think it could be edited for Toonami quite well AND it will no doubt have uncut DVD's and the manga will remain unaltered.

I think it should go on toonami. I mean, yes it has alot of blood and some content that might be too much for toonami but DBZ has blood and some strong content. So does RK and Yu Yu. I also think it better fitted on toonami then AS, well at least Imo.

If it was on Adult Swim though they wouldn't have to edit much out, even if there isn't lot's of stuff to be edited.

Yes, but FUNi has said that they want this to be the next DBZ, so no doubt it would go to Toonami.

Well it may have to go to Toonami, regards if they played this on Adult Swim, that would presume more problems because Inu Yasha is a long Series as well, and being Funi, the seem to make contracts with Cartoon Networks Toonami lineup very well and no dout that will happen.

I definitely agree with you here. One Piece is going to Toonami because of two reasons: it's length, and despite the bloody battles, it's not adult enough to make it on AS.
But please elaborate: why did Kenshin get the boot off of Toonami? It seems more edited on SVES than it was on Toonami (ex. episode 55).

OP can get violent at times but no more so really than DBZ. Heck this is considered a family show in Japan. Thats why its so popular.

It'd also be cool to see the U.S VAs do Nami, Luffy, Zoro etc. :D

Censors caught on to WS' "slips" and had them take it off Toonami. First to SVES so it would be in subtile obscurity and soon to late SVES (11pm very soon) to put it even further away from the general public. It's an awful shame because it's decently long and probably wont get reruns on the weekday even. I hate censors... Kenshin was fine where it was!
Actually SVES and Toonami have the EXACT same edits for series. (the "sexy" scene was quite a suprise though) KotZ was entirely DiC's fault (why couldn't they learn from Smoon?) Kenshin probably would have gone to Adult Swim after the boot but WS had already edited all the tapes and weren't going to buy more. Thus SVES was the only place for it. I really miss having it on Toonami. It's a shame because WS wanted it on Toonami for so long and now they can't have it there.
As for what I asked for no one to mention again (and I actually did - shame on me) was Knights of the Zodiac. Ugh the pain... It was horrible per say but with todays standards the series is entirely out of place.

A while back, I remember Kyle Hebert trying out for Zoro. FUNi was sending a demo tape to CN so it could be accepted.

As far as for widest possible audience, definetely Toonami (but they'd loose the oh-so-cool theme, that helps to establish plot)
But lots of stuff would need to be edited. and even tho DBZ was violent, it is to be rememberd that DBZ's violence was usually of the hand-to-hand and ki blast variety. Also, DBZ's characters were mostly aliens and superhumans (Krillin and yamcha were the only "normal" fighting people on the show and even then, they took a back seat to the main characters) where as all the characters in One Piece are normal people with extraordinary talent and a high tolerance for pain.
One Piece has frequent swordplay (and people getting sliced up) Gunplay (lots of guns, and people getting shot, especially in ep 65) and stabings...oh the stabbings! I can also recal a number of scenes that are bloodier than anything I've seen on DBZ (uncut) Zoro vs Mihawk and Nami's tatoo
Ideally AS would have it. but the show is so far from "adult". sure, Sanji is woman crazy, and Nami uses her feminine wiles tro get out of scrapes (no where near as racy as Lupin's Fujiko tho) and Zoro has little conscience for killing cannon fodder. But those aspects can nowere outweight the juvenile humor and goofy feeling most of the show has (and don't bring up Trigun, Vash can't hold a candle Luffy and Usopp)
I'd really like to see this show as unedited as possible, and for the most part, we can, but there are a number of scenes I can imagine that will either get cut or ruined by horrible editing.
SVES' slighly lax attitude on censorship is good, but the once a week format could be detrimental to a potentially huge fanbase. I'd love to let my little brothers watch this show, they love look of it, but it's too violent for me to feel comfotable doing so (and my mom would have my head)

Now you make good sense. That's exactly why I think it should, could, and most likely will be on Toonami.

There's no real need for the third hour unless they get some other worthy programing. Otherwise it'll probably just be Totally Spies (which is fine outside of Toonami) and something dumb like TF: Armada.
However maybe someday Toonami could be three hours of great programing again. Maybe this...
5.0 - Angelic Layer
5.5 - Teen Titans
6.0 - One Piece
6.5 - Gundam SEED
7.0 - Naruto
7.5 - Detective Conan
Sounds good to me though Naruto and Angelic Layer are iffy.

However though, if they bring One Piece to Toonami. They'd have to stop showing an anime for a while, like take it out of the air or put it in another lineup (like Yu Yu Hakusho). And this topic would have to be moved to Toonami :D

That's sounds like a schedule that I actually wouldn't mind watching. :p
One Piece is quickly becoming one of my favorite mangas, but if is was too come to CN I think it would most likely go to Toonami.Even though I like my anime's unedited I think it would fit well on Toonami and it could continue to do for Toonami what DBZ did for the block. Also it would be alot better than seeing it once a week on SVES  .

Well sometime around late this year or early next year AnimeOnDVD should be doing a dub casting game for One Piece as well.
And my guess is that like Fruits Basket (another FUNi anime) might be having the japanese themes intact.

i've only read a few of the manga's tht my bro brings me
but so far i think if in any case it WERE going to air
i think it's clean enough to be on CN in general
but then again it might not be
i'd like to see it whatever the case, it should be entertaining
mainly because in one of the manga's
the main character dude is high fiving a giant blue penguin
so how bad could it be if stuff like that happens?

Well see an add on Cartoon Network about One Piece as most of the FUNi projects are released to CN.
And if on Toonami, Tom would announce it as well during Toonami's run next year.

I can see how some people would like it to be on AS. But I'd hate to think AS would become nothing more than a crutch for playing uncut (or near uncut) anime on CN. One Piece is prime Toonami material. It's also incredibly marketable for some odd reason... It's also hard to take seriously in more cases than not. It's got the hyper action and shiney new look that Toonami is going for these days. If it indeed is Funimation's then it'll be on Toonami without a doubt. After YYH all but failed on ASA Funimation isn't likely going to put another Shonen anime on the block.

YYH didn't fail on ASA. It's just that it was getting a lot of teen ratings, but FUNi can't brag about it as long as YYH is on AS (it would run counter to what CN is trying to establish AS as). That's why FUNi had YYH moved to Toonami.

It wasn't teen ratings it was kids ratings(as in the kids who watch Toonami).

Yes YYH did fail in the same sense that Kenshin did on Toonami. They didn't fail as programs they failed to attract the audience WS was going for. YYH skewed to young for Adult Swim and Kenshin skewed too old for Toonami.

I'm not sure. How's YYH's ratings among adults while on AS?
All I'm certain is that it gained a teen/tween following which FUNi preferred.
I don't remember its AS ratings (AS only measures ages 18-34).
