I was checking IMDB under Eva Green and found she's acting in a live action French movie currently filming.... Arsène Lupin.

Seems to be some sort of take on the Castle of Cagliostro, well I suppose the anime is the take since Lupin is a french creation..

Credited cast:
Romain Duris (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0244151/).... Arsène Lupin/Raoul d'Andrézy
Kristin Scott Thomas (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000218/).... La comtesse de Cagliostro
Pascal Greggory (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0339621/).... Beaumagnan
Eva Green (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm1200692/).... Clarisse de Dreux-Soubise
Robin Renucci (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0719914/).... Duc de Dreux-Soubise

Anyone know anything about this and how it's related (if at all) to a possible American version of Lupin?

Hmm....very interesting.

Due to my flamboyant pretentiousness, I'll bet this one will be better than the Hollywood one, but you never know.

Well.. Arsene Lupin is a character in a french novel, and our dear Lupin's Great Grandfather.. could be about him..

Uhh, that isn't based on the Lupin III anime. It's based on the original Arsene Lupin (ie: Lupin I) novels by Maurice LeBlanc, which were basically the French equivalent to Sherlock Holmes.

The Castle of Cagliostro movie was based off of one of LeBlanc's novels. They've made tons of movies based on his work. Hell, they made SILENT Lupin films back in the day.

Great grandfather? That would make Lupin, Lupin the Fourth. Arsene Lupin is Lupin the Third's Grandfather.

This would have to be about the original Arsene Lupin, considering that the guy who produced Schindeler's list has the rights to his great grandson.

Really, I thought I remembered people in the show saying that he was the grandson of Arsene Lupin?
