What makes this show TOTALLY AWESOME!?!?!?

1. The Spies, tall, regular girly teenagers!
2. ACTION- the best part, when the spies are fighting crime its awesome!
3. THE Scene Music! Forever Scene it is, the music always seems to fit perfectly, its almost like i would love to have a copy of recorded soundtrack of the TS scene songs!
4. The Cloths, even those some Season 1 outfits were...a no no, like in the Fugitives, Sam's pants....hehe..no..but everything else works! :D
5. The bad guys, they may always be about revenge, but its fun to see how they stupid they are to actually battle with the Spies! :D

Not me. It seems to me like all the bad American cartoon cliches with anime-style packaging. Also I can't stand their attempts to be cool. I mean, they're like, totally corny, y'know?

Teenage girls who fight crime during the day and sit around painting their nails at night... where have I heard that before? It's as close to a Saban Sailor Moon as we're ever going to get (fortunately). Looks like a corporate-created product to me. Artists didn't come up with this. You're right Mackenzie, it's hilarious, but for all the wrong reasons.

I LOVE Totally Spies.

It's about time they put up a new lighthearted girl-oriented show after waiting in months longing for Sailor Moon's return. I liked the show for a few reasons.

- Three lovely leads
- Those various fashions
- A show that dosen't take itself seriously

FLAT, if you know what i mean, its nothing against a cartoon cuz i like them too, but TS has lots of detail! :D

First of all, the KP Storylines are ALL THE SAME, by using the scene switch as Totally Spies do.

KP episode starts out at school showing kp or ron or whatever doing something wrong or gettting in some kind of trouble, kp gets called for a mission....by wade and ron comes along with the naked mole rat to save the day, and after, kp goes back to school to solve a trouble...that happens every time..

Animation: You are very wrong about this one, the animators of Totally Spies put LOTS more effort and detail into making the characters and backgrounds stand out. KP's backgrounds are so off, everything looks as if KP wont pick up the object or grab the object..so they make it look flat.

Characters and Villains: Sure they're are more characters in KP but the villains are all the same in KP! Ever seen a new villain yet?!?! Besides Draken, senior senior, junior, shego and the Smarty mart ...bad guy... oh im sure theres only about 5 more, but all these episodes are based on those villains...trying to take over the world.....that ship has sailed for cartoons a LONG LONG time ago..

I bet if Totally Spies hadn't have gotten off air, on ABC family, the ratings wouldbe a LOT higher than ever, because there has been a lot of put-downs on TS because all the Cartoon network fans think TS is trying to look like a new style of anime, well they're wrong. Disney would only be aloud to produce 52 episodes of KP anyways, TS is already getting a LOT more.

If you think about it, and i've heard this almost all Message boards i go to, Ruffus and Ron both get on everyone's nerves, Ron is always in the way of things, he doesnt even no self defence i have no CLUE why the...people supporting Kim and Ron as secret agents would even THINK of actually using him as an agent if he doesnt no the #1 rule of probably being an agent. Totally Spy, its shallow. Shallow plots. Shallow characters. And its corny. The animation is bad. The story leave something to be desired. All that should make a bad show...yet...I think that's why I like it. Its so bad, its good. Its refreshing because its so shallow. I prefer to see it as KP=Honda. It's good for some people, basic, and good at doing the same things over and over again.

TS, however, is a CItroen. Weird, quirky, and it takes someone with a special love for it to see what makes it so special.

Which (however unintentionally) goes to prove starwar1's point. You don't read threads to see what has come before. Consequently, you're oblivious to matters that you should be sensitive to (And especially the rules of a particular forum, whether its ours or Toon Zone's). Now admittedly, even though I don't know all the rules here by heart, I generally know what's to be expected of me here, and I try to follow them. The closest person who is ditsy on TS would be Alex but only marginally. She is more naive then she is ditsy.

I have never really seen KP so I can't say.

Even if TS has coppied anime, im sure they made it a lot more in detail, dragonballZ today was horrible animation...i couldnt believe how little effort was put into it!

I started to watch Totally Spies last summer, and I have recorded some of the episodes, but I think that Totally Spies would have been a better if it was a PG-13 rated show.

I don't know about that. I think it would lose alot of its charm if that happened. Of course, I like my women hot and with strong moral character. The characters themselves would lose alot if they became the horny, sex-crazed sluts that are typical of normal teen targeted programing(Dawson's Creek anyone?).

And as for this KP is better than TS debate...well, here's my thoughts. KP does have better animation than TS. It uses more FPS(frames per second, not first person shooter :rolleyes: ) than TS does. However, it sacrifices detail in the process. It's my opinion that TS does better with fewer FPS and more detail what KP does with more FPS and less detail. I find the character designs in TS to be much better than KP's(all female characters in KP look like they have a mustache). Also, I find the characters in TS to be much more entertaining than KP's. These girls actually get frightened, cry, and have other emotions that Kim Possible(feminist icon that she is) seems to be completely incapable of. Ron's cool though.

Still, if KP's what your into, that's fine n' dandy. Everybody likes different stuff. It's not that big of a deal. Just don't maul each other over it. :moon:

Agreed. Even though I infinitely like TS over KP, that's solely my opinion. I'll try to stop involving myself in arguments over it (But only if you're willing to forgive me if I slip up here and there.;))

Yeah, im 13...and age has nothing to do with what kind of shows i like.....and...whatever shows you like. While I agree it shouldn't be yanked altogether, I think the twice a day airings are overplaying the season-and-a-half that CN has and are gonna wear out its welcome with other viewers eventually. Season 3 is due out in the fall, right? Maybe they should've waited till they had that and the rest of season 2 before going to twice a day airings.

Truthfully, it doesn't really matter that much since, due to cost concerns, detail has to be booted out the window. If they want to make more fps(which makes the animation run smoother) they have to draw more frames, but by sacrificing detail, it doesnt take as much time to draw the frames. Most animes go the detail route, but by stylizing it just right, the animators can create the illusion that the animation is running pretty smooth. Certain show that take the fps route(like Batman: TAS) can turn out real good, though. It's all about which style you prefer. :)

But your forgetting, an average everyday kind of kid doesnt come home from school, trashing the books and collapsing on the couch to watch Every episode of Totally spies, unless they are a HUGE fan or they Post here, and are online a lot.
Plus Cartoon is going to air Season 3- new episodes as soon as it finishes up season 3 production.

basicly it kinda shows how the french think of teenage girls

They're all expertly trained badass (or ultra-suave) guys that have no hang ups, nothing to worry about, and get the job done right. That's what you need in a spy. Naw, besides the talking mole rat and green woman with glowing hands...its very realistic.

1) She has parents that are in her life and take an active role in her upbringing. The TS girls are running wild in B. Hills without any type of parental guidance. The TS girls are more likely to be seen on a Girls Gone Wild video because of this.

2) Everyone knows she's a government agent...which means she doesn't spend long periods of time out of school without a valid excuse. There will never be a TS graduation episode because those slackers are always skipping class. They're probably 6th year seniors.

I'm a new fan of Totally Spies. When they first aired commercials for it in 2001 (you know, back when it was on ABC Family?) I was turned off by it because the commercials seemed to emphasize the girly aspects of the show- dating, clothes shopping, etc. But I discovered it on Cartoon Network in August and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Yes, it's not the most intellectually stimulating show out there, but for a light-hearted, humorous 22 minutes, you can't go wrong. Too bad I don't have cable now that I'm back in college... :rolleyes: P.S.: I really don't have a comment on Kim Possible because I've never really watched it.
