If there were to be a contest (hint hint) for the most memorable TZ moment(s), what would you nominate? you can nominate more than one.

*Cough*

I'd list some, but I'm afraid Skarr would get mad at me for some of them. :D

The 12 Days Of Christmas Drawing Board Thread. That was fantastic. Such a feeling of community as we approached Xmas. I'll never forget that. That was a super time.

I just loved the "ignore this or don't whatever" thread. It was so pointless, but somehow really memorable. Go to the test board and see the memorable stupidity for yourself.

I'll never forget the day the old Termite Terrace Trading Post got hacked by "Vandermarcus Smithson". Then shortly afterwards, "V.S." stopped. A few days after "V.S." struck, Brian Cruz made fun of "V.S." and said "V.S." was a sad little boy who listened to the Backstreet Boys. Classic...

I'll never forget last summer on the Adult Swim board. It was just after Comic-Con '02, late evening, and the board was full of people waiting for livingfruitvirus's report from the AS booth. Few were posting, we were just all sort of waiting around. And on your 7th time to push refresh, LFV's report came up, and the payoff was well worth it... after all, we were getting more Big O! Oh, and Ghost In The Shell, too... which never really happened.

I remember when it seemed like every man on Toonzone posted a "My girlfriend just dumped me. WOMEN SUCK!!!!!!" thread in the café. It got so out of hand that the mods had to put a new rule into the forum FAQ! Stupid whiney losers

Also, the "I hate Family Guy" thread that turned into a 10 page bliss cult. That was so funny! :D
"Feel the bliss! La la la la la la la la la la la la la" ;)

I remember that well. It was a very communal geekdom we all shared.

There would be a piece of news and then 35 posts would go up simultaneously. Also, that was what got LFV his mod status. I was thinking about that when this year's comic con came around, and realized this year just wasn't the same.

I still remember...*SNIFF*...those few days in a row when the TZ server was being changed and we couldn't access the site for an entire weekend. I felt so...so...naked at the time.

i'll always remember how the videogame forum almost reached the point of total chaos with fanboyism running rampant. good thing we have sjj to settle things down, a little bit anyway

That happens every other week. Saying you remember that time is like saying you remember that one time on "I Love Lucy" when Lucy wanted to be in the show. It doesn't really narrow it down.

Hio! A lot of you might not remember me - I've been an active lurker for the past 6 months or so, and been kinda dead even before then as well. Why? Not quite sure. But even though I've been hiding in the shadows, I still fondly remember some of TZ's finest (and not so fine) moments:

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36701
I begin with my absolute favorite TZ memory - The Squirt Gun Fight! It started out so simple and innocent, and then sprawled into a massive TZ-wide armaggeddon. A great TZ-wide roleplay of general insanity and wierdness that was one of the most fun threads I've ever been part of. I'm sad to see there wasn't one this year, but I doubt that first one could ever be topped anyway.

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15744
The beginning of the John Delaney sketches! Was, and still is a vital part of TZ! Probably the most heated place to spread opinions as well as put creative strategies to good use as we strived to get our favorite choice on top!

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=18868&highlight=btas+episode
At the same time, probably one of the biggest debates was raging on in the BSBB boards - what BTAS episode was the best? As this one went on, we all realized just how many great episodes were out there, and the struggle to the top could not have been closer!

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45284
Ahh, the TZ Chatroom. I've only been there once, and vowed never to enter again, so much so that, even after the mods cleaned it up, I still won't go, so I'm not even sure if its still alive. But it had a horrible beginning which will forever remain burnt in my memory.

I've also heard great things about the Neverending Thread and the state of affairs here during 9-11. It was before my time, but they did sound like things for the history books.

Ciao for now!

Last night on the AS board, where at one point over 160+ people were present during and after the Big O premiere. It felt like a party was happening, what with everyone posting like mad and gushing over the premiere. Tonight should be interesting as well with two additions.

Ahhh, yes.... except that it was more "I'm a nice guy and the stupid, evil girls won't date me. WOMEN SUCK!!!!!" :P

The Neverending Thread was pretty cool and great for getting to know people, until it got out of hand. ^_^

I can remember the famous "Superman is holding back" debates which began after "War World" premiered, and continues to this day on various threads other than the original (which is long gone by now, I assume).

I can also remember the buzz on the Batman Beyond episode "The Call" -- for example, everyone who missed the episodes wanting to see pics of the JLU and Superman and Batman together!

Finally, we have a memorable event ongoing right now -- the "Justice League Season 2 is showing in Hong Kong and Israel" thread. Why do other countries get to see a new U.S. TV show before the U.S. even does???

That's what MotU fans have been asking since Canada aired 'Council of Evil' before Cartoon Network, not to mention Season 2 of 'Beast Machines'. *shudder*

But I digress.

Anyways, I'd have to say a recent 'memorable' thread has to be the 'Funimaction' (sp) thread in the anime forum. It recently got locked, but it is one the funniest things I've read in ages. :p

The Justice League Twilight talkback definantely. Right after the episode I logged on and there must have been fifty people on. That thread jumped to fife pages in a minute I swear. It eventually hit a grand total of thirteen. :D

Then there was the Newbie invasion back in December. There must have beent two newbie threads a day. ;)

I remember back in '99 when some kid started flooding the then only Batman Beyond Board. Everyone hated him. He continuosly posted under other peoples names (because back then it wasn't like it is today with passwords) and wrote absurd things and and just annoyed everyone. I, in particular had a good time pissing the kid off, which, as I found out, he had an infatuation with Popeye. Finally, I think it was Robin III, he came back from some sort of hiatus and, you know, banished him off the board into the cold vastness of the internet. It was a cruel, yet just decision. Anyway thats when these boards started to get rules. Then I left and now I'm back. Its a good place this community.

Anyhoo, back to the topic. "Bliss" was pretty hard to beat. Skarr's posts and jwl's always cracked me up. Lots of stuff on the "Is This Thing On?" board should be nominated. The Iraq threads were pretty cool.

*Sigh* Memories.

1. Definitely the Squirt Gun War -- you can only capture lightning once.

All those heavy philosophical conversations I allowed myself to be dragging into by Psilon and Clayface (pokes him playfully)

Reliable Source, anyone?

Taking Over the World and the aborted trial/trail of Jack. (I still got the avatar!)

Very much so. While a little repetative so far as arguments were concerned, it was interesting reading views and interpretations of current events from the eyes of TZ members.

Ah, yes GS - the trial. That was amusing. Never resolved was it? Or did I miss that? Pity.. :)

I recall having some great Return Of The Joker debates a couple of years ago with Clayface in particular. I think it was over whether Terry could really be seen as scoring a victory over the Joker - how much did he really achieve himself... it was a fascinating topic and one of the first real memorable TZ memories for myself.

Probably a lot of the threads in the "Is This Thing On?" forum, a lot of jwl's posts and a lot of replies to his posts (HAHA! I'M USING THE INTERNET!!!11) It's all been fun.
